Caught the wave, just in time before going to bed! :-)
It sure was "back then". We could roam the neighborhood without our parents freaking out, and we HATED being indoors. I'm totally glad we didn't have phones/tablets during our childhood. Our imaginations ran wild!
I have the tv on all the time. There are shows I enjoy but picking a favorite isn’t easy.
When I was young, I loved The Twilight Zone and The Addams Family. In the ‘80s, I loved Max Headroom. Those are the three standouts, I reckon.
Howdy, ML! Batman was awesome then!
Great shows. I loved the Twilight Zone, even though it scared the bejeezes out of me. LOL! I never watched the Addams family.
It was, indeed.
Especially the theme song by Neil Hefty...such profound and erudite lyrics!
(dadadadadadadadadadadada Batman)
Good evening, Canteeners!
I hope you’re all doing well. Thank you again for all that you do.
This was fun! :)
“Your favorite TV show is Batman
Action! Adventure! Superheroes! You’re a fun person who enjoys watching the action unfold.”
Getting the bejeezes scared out of one was half the fun of the Twilight Zone. LOL
I grew up on the Addams Family. My parents had a coffee table book of Addams Family cartoons and I can still remember sitting on the sofa next to Mom with the book on our laps. I was too young to read but I would look at each cartoon as she read the captions. Never tired of them.
The tv show came later and even though young, I wasn’t sure they’d do a good job with it. They did a great job and we didn’t miss an episode.
Howdy, Allegra!
How goes it your way?
I’m sorry. Of course it was. My mind going 50 different directions at once. LOL! Yes, Perry Mason’s LA was civilized!
Yes, simple and to the point. LOL!
I can see that being your kind of show! :) All about heroes!
I didn’t even know there WERE Addams family cartoons! Maybe if I’d have read them, I would have appreciated the show more.
LOL - I love the campiness of that show. Watching it as an adult, I finally understood why my parents used to laugh while watching. I had such a crush on Robin when I was a little girl.
Hi radu! It’s springlike here the past few days and I love it!
How are things up your way?
“Now I just find it embarrassing.”
Yes! When I channel surf and run across that show or others of the genre I think to myself, “What were we thinking? Why were we laughing at such nonsense?” ;-)
The tv show was based on the cartoons. Charles Addams started drawing them in the late ‘30s for the New Yorker and they were later published in books like the one my parents had. It was an old book when I was little. They had another coffee table book of other cartoons that had been published in the New Yorker so I suppose the magazine published both books.
I was very upset with Mom when I moved back to TN and looked for that book. Turned out she’d taken a lot of books to the library and the Addams Family book was one of them. GRRRRRRRRRRRRR
He was cute but I crushed on the Batman himself! Sooo suave and debonair and cool! Super cool! LOL
Lucky you!!!! Sure would be nice if you were able to share some of that weather with us up here. LOL Today wasn’t too bad but tomorrow will be right nippy again. The somewhat decent the rest of the week. But after living in arctic temps for a week, I shouldn’t complain.
But I will! I want Spring!!!
:-)
