I’ve been at several holiday themed gatherings this past week. I had to bite my tongue and keep my mouth shut so many times, my eyeballs were bleeding.

You’re not alone. God is always with you and that is a great joy.

Bah humbug!!

It's interesting but what that word means is a pretty good description:

Humbug - Something intended to deceive; a hoax or fraud.

Christmas is a hoax and a fraud. It's a warmed over pagan celebration dressed up as a Christian holiday. It's a hoax on Christianity. God intended his people to observe the holy days of the bible.

Another definition:

"A person who claims to be other than what he or she is; an impostor."

Santa Claus is worldy, bastardized representation of God. Be good get worldly gifts. Do bad suffer economic distress. What a blasphemy.

Awhile back I was reading the biography of Tom Lester. He played farmhand Eb on the great TV comedy “Green Acres”. After the show ended, Lester became a Christian speaker. He married for the first and only time when he was 68.

Compared to Eb, you’re still a youngster.

Merry Christmas!

Personally, I'm sick of all Holidays, except for MEMORIAL DAY AND VETERANS' DAY.

The rest have turned into stupid all you can eat, drink, buy, party and act like a fool. Hell, even Independence Day has become BBQ day. No one of substance still recognizes the original meaning of Holidays.

I don't even recognize nor celebrate Christmas anymore. The worse is New Years Eve craziness. Why is that even a Holiday? Just to get drunk and act like an ass? It's another friggin day. What is there to celebrate? NO ONE knows how the coming year will turn out. It could mean fortune for some and homeless for others. Just don't forget to wear your stupid paper hat.

And most of all, get rid of my yearly frigging Birthday. What the hell did I have to do with that?

I’ll lend you my brat of a cat. She chooses not to go out when it’s cold, just sits on my desk and complains about the rotten waitress in this establishment. dinner is never soon enough for my fat kitty girl.

My daughter is going to Australia for Christmas , flying out the 26th, jumping on a cruise ship with a friend. Really good for her, since her beloved husband died two months ago, and she cries all the time. Friend’s suggestion of the cruise is a lifesaver for her. Anyway, I’ve invited a good friend over for Christmas dinner and we’ll have a lovely dinner and share a terrific bottle of wine.

Merry Christmas to you and your cat brat.

Just me and my two kitties tonight. I spent the day, however, cooking things to bring to a family gathering tomorrow and wrapping a few gifts for the kiddos so I’m pretty tired.

Merry Christmas!

After 37 Christmases with the hubs, whose approach to holidays in general was to hunker down and be as inconspicuous as possible, he’s off celebrating with Jesus this year, while I’m here with a large white mutt and dainty gray tabby. I bought myself a lovely prime ribeye steak for dinner and shared a bit with the dog. Kitty didn’t make a showing until after I had put the leftovers away, so she’ll be having her usual pate. Sitting here now with a cup of hot coffee and a square of dark chocolate to finish things off. I had planned to go to church this evening but decided I prefer the solitude right now. Harder to be alone in a crowd than at home, IMO. All is surprisingly ok, and in a few days there will be family around and post-Christmas visiting to do.

Yes I am spending my 2nd XMAS alone after my partner died last year. Without her around it is kind of lonely but I don’t mind too much, I have my memories and they sustain me just fine. I much prefer to try and do for others and that is my fun.

I may watch a XMAS film tonight. My usual favorite XMS movie is the 1934 movie, The Thin Man, with William Powell and Myrna Loy, kind of Xmas murder mystery. Never tire of watching that one.

Anyway A Very Merry Christmas to one and all, and stay safe.

If you were here, we could sit in front of the fire, sip some vino and sharpen our swords.

That I can understand, the total over commercialization has really ruined the meaning totally.

Yes, my third Christmas alone. I went to my niece’s Friday, and had an early celebration. Now back home with my dog and cat, my companions.
