When making rescue attempts in hostage situations, any attempt can, and likely will result in the loss of many, or all of the hostages. When the Palestinians took Israeli athletes hostage at the 1972 Munich Olympics, the attempt to rescue the nine hostages on the airplane at the airport ended with the death of every single one. There are never any guarantees that hostages will be saved when attempting rescues. We were taught to assume that before any negotiations were conducted, to consider every hostage to already be dead.
They never heard the saying: those who beat their swords into plowshares will plow for those who do not.
You mentioned the very event over 50 years ago that triggered the focus on creating specialized hostage rescue teams such as GSG9.
Your event had policemen who didn’t even have specialized snipers trying to save hostages and losing all 9 in the effort leading to the creation of GSG9.

The same thing happened at Attica Prison in 1971. There was no emergency response team in the NY State Department of Correctional Services at the time. The individuals who took back the prison were the NY State Police, BCI, Sheriffs, Park Police and some Correctional Officers, who opened fire on the yard, killing a total of 10 hostages. In the aftermath of the riot, the State formed the Correctional Emergency Response Team (CERT) that consisted of uniformed prison staff only. No outside police agencies would ever again take part in resolving incidents within prison walls.
On a side note, I believe myself to be philo-Semitic. I take to heart Genesis 12:3- "I will bless those who bless Israel, and I will curse those who curse Israel." To defend the Children of God is one of the highest callings a person can have.
That said, today's nation of Israel is a very non-religious country, which borders on depravity. Most Israelis are secular Jews with little to no belief in God. Israel has the strongest Army in the middle east, and the best intelligence service in the world, yet they were taken by surprise by Iran's Mullahs. This tells me that perhaps this is a warning from God for the People of Israel to turn back to Him.
So what, they have Russian, American, Israeli and other hostages. They’re either dead already or will be at the hands of these filthy animals. Raze Gaza. Let nothing live there ever again.
