When the US owns the Space, literally? How many Russians have landed on the Moon? How many times have they tried? LOFL.
"Stop embarrassing yourself with such juvenile behavior. It’s unseemly."
Log off and go visit your family, Freeptard.
This is a metaphor for the DeSanctus campaign.
The only thing that kept the ISS alive after 2011 was Boeing's death grip on Congress and the GOPe, nicely papered over by some Company dweeb figuring the opportunity cost to keep the Kompromat channel open was marginally more utilitarian versus letting ISS plunge into the Pacific. As it will in 2031, if not sooner with a Soviet crew aboard. LOFL.
10 years.
Soyuz only.
It’s the only measurement that matters. And of course it is not clear what else you are trying to measure.
The only access to the ISS for 10 years was Soyuz. Period. Full stop. There are no buts. There are no howevers. The world is grateful.
Gloating on the humiliation of an evil dictator by his own hand is neither unseemly nor malignant.
He’s already done enough damage over the past 20 years. I will gloat at his downfall, too.
Nobody was killed in this disaster, and Putin’s street cred is further eroded, bringing closer the date of his fall from power.
In contrast, he has killed untold numbers of Russians, Chechens, Georgians and Ukrainians, all to satisfy his voracious ego. If you want to commiserate, commiserate with them, not with a wannabe emperor.
“My overall point being that the apparent need to gloat about the failure of another country’s space mission (and we’re talking about an unmanned lunar lander, not some military op) strikes me as not only bizarre, but needlessly petty.”
Again, nobody was killed in that moon crash, and it was not Russia’s space mission so much as Putin and his oligarch buddies’. I will gloat extra hard at their humiliation just because you have a problem with that.
In a military op, people are killed, maimed and ruined for life, no matter who wins, and even the victors are prone to committing unspeakable crimes against the losers, either as collective revenge, or because they are drunk with power. So it has been with every war ever fought.
Your priorities are all wrong.
“’εν ειρενει μεν οι νεανισκοι τουσ πρεσβυτερουσ θαβουσιν, εν πολεμει δε οι πρεσβυτεροι τουσ νεανισκουσ.”
Look up the translation.
I’m seeing it at #8 on Wiki list of that name’ although the Russians likely have a more accurate and more precise estimate of its actual yield than what they’ve released. Under Nedelin wiki does mention the casualties, but with the typical commie underreporting of them (cf Maui.).
As an aside, I pray Wiki never gets a such a list heading without the “non-nuclear” clause. Unless you count intentional nuclear test explosions which achieved higher than planned yield we’ve yet to have one. Not that non-nuclear explosions spreading nuclear material haven’t been a thing, cf Kyshtym.
Well it appears they have not captured any alien anti grav vehicles to reverse engineer. 😏
Yet…
Its a sortable list - just sort by one on the “Yield” fields.
Sorts to #8 for me. Perhaps Wiki has so named lists on multiple pages with differing entries.
Sorting upside down my bad.
You don't really have any idea how many times the ISS was defunded -- before and after 2011 -- and NASA-calculated into the oceanic pole of inaccessibility, do you, comrade.
Speaking of juvenile...
Stay classy.
Ukraine shot it down... : )
