And will Democrats actually go ahead and pay reparations? In California, a commission created by Gavin Newsom has recommended that reparations be paid in California, in amounts which far exceed the annual budget of the state.
Since Democrats have overwhelming majorities in the state legislature in Calif. and a Democrat governor in Newsom, we will see what happens, in a place controlled by Democrats, how they choose to proceed. Stay tuned.
And as Newsom is a potential future presidential candidate, how he handles this could well affect his political future.

I have wondered what would happen with public assistance programs, if we did pay these reparations.
If a stereotypical black single mom, suddenly has a lot of money, she would have financial assets which make her ineligible for such assistance, right?
I don’t know all the eligibility criteria, but, it seems if we did pay reparations, all these newly wealthy black folks would not be covered by public assistance programs any longer.
