A Tesla mega-battery caught on fire in Australia a year or two ago.
Because the smoke is highly toxic, they did not approach it, and they let it burn for like three days.
Apparently, the battery fires create their own oxygen by chemical reaction, so water and CO2 have a limited effect on putting them out.

That's why dopey Joe and his merry band of neoconunists are pushing for nuclear war with russia. It's not that big a deal if a couple of coasts are vaporized, and hey, at least it takes the focus off the impending disaster of net zero.
The simple fact that they’re all (willfully) overlooking is that the planet has a tremendous capacity to clean itself. Net Zero is a complete unnecessary self-indulgence.
And there’s still realistic models (much less “proof”) showing that humanity wouldn’t be better off with a warmer planet.
The cost to upgrade the electrical grid in our communities to facilitate EV charging AND meet the current electrical loads of households is not factored into the mandates from politicians (who are getting a lot of “donations” from companies in this sector who benefit).
Consider your average service feed to 10 houses in your neighborhood or down your road. It is sized to current use with a high degree of reliability and safety.
Charge a few EV’s in addition to the normal load and it is NOT sized properly. Charge a few EV’s on the same feed during a peak load period (extreme heat/cold) and it may fail. The wear and tear on under-sized utility equipment leads to increased maintenance costs and equipment failures.
The “grid” will need to be beefed up and redesigned to meet the EV mandates and this is an enormously expensive undertaking. The infrastructure costs will be passed on to the consumer and also drive up prices for the raw materials utilities will need.
In other words, even those of us who do not want/own a battery powered vehicle will be forced to pay for those who do via government subsidies and increased utility costs.
