Answer me this…..Why wouldn’t it be good for the party for McCarthy to drop out and allow Jordan to be chosen? Wouldn’t that put an end to all of this confusion?

Do you seriously think it would be HARDER to find enough votes for Jordan than it would for McCarthy? I can guarantee there aren’t 20 hard “no”s for Jordan.
I would absolutely support Jordan. If McCarthy exits, he’d be the logical choice.
But… there’s no sign of McCarthy exiting the run for Speaker.

Jeffries is at 212, only 6 vote short of the Speakership. Do NOT underestimate the dems’ efforts to find six flippable moderates on the R side as this drags on. Then… we’re all effed.
The reality is that McCarthy could make a deal with Democrats to share power so he can be Speaker. Hakeem could wind up as the second guy in the House and then what. That would be real disaster.

I no longer take the US government seriously at all. I say whichever outcome is the most entertaining is the one I want to see. These people are all a bunch of clowns and I’m tired of acting like they’re anything else. I physically and emotionally made my move to galt’s knob. I say let the whole thing implode and enjoy your popcorn sometimes the only answer is to put your faith in the Phoenix that rises from the ashes.

And McCarthy has given official sign-off on their release in exchange for Trump’s endorsement.

I can’t stand McCarthy. It’s Republicans like him that caused me to register as an Independent.
McCarthy has the keys to the official release of Pelosi’s damning emails. McCarthy doesn’t need to do anything other sign a letter releasing them as legal evidence of her actions leading up to and including January 6th.

Considering that you didn’t mention emails or records from Pelosi, it’s Ovid why I didn’t reply in kind.
I’m in favor of getting all the info released from 1/6. Shouldn’t forget McConnell’s role also.
