This is not about "climate change", this is about a bankrupt state not being able to maintain an aged gas line infrastructure.
They can't say that publicly without having bond ratings drop.

Heat pumps do not work in sug=b-FReezing weather!

"We sit on the richest reservoir of Natural Gas in the world and these numbskulls are creating an insane goal that will never be reached."
You should look into "Fracking". ;-)
Given the trillions planned for AGW I do not understand how a global AGW vs Gas, Clean Coal, Nuclear, etc. hearing/trial using actual probabilities and facts vs computer models to weigh the likelihoods cannot be brought to force the governments to drop this wasteful AGW junk science.

We can really tell a difference in gas heat in our present residence to the electric heat we used to have - it’s toasty and to keep the temp at around 68 it doesnt seem to have to run as much, so the cost maybe cheaper?
But winter’s just begun, some howling blue northerns will likely raise the bill!

Take it away from the politicians first. You know, to show the people how to do it.

What an interesting headline. It assumes peasants will be allowed to heat their homes.
HINT.
We peasants will not be allowed to heat our homes.

We replaced our gas heat with a heat pump. It’s awful. Cold all the time. Bump to the top.

The best I ever had was a heat pump and a coal stove. Heat pumps work when it isn't cold out. So shoulder season is fine but for heating season you need real heat like gas or coal or wood. But heat pumps are more expensive and it's going to be costly shoulder season heat.

This one’s legit. Really. Are you saying that mandating electric heat is legit?

When it’s under 40 outside, your “efficient” electric heat pump can’t pump heat - so the resistance heat strips kick on and you can use your electric meter as a fan. And everyone elses's too. Then rolling blackouts.

At 22 below zero, at 125% it still beats my System 2000 boiler
At -22°F, we have 3,580 BTU heating output and 840W input. COP value at -22°F is 1.25. A couple questions, What is a system 2000 boiler? Resistive heat? Is 5,000 BTU's of heat useful when it is zero F? My main question is what are you really heating with when it is zero? How much does it cost for that heat per hour (roughly)? Finally, what is the entire heating system cost (including what someone would have charged you for installation)?

You forgot toilets. Right. The ice in the toilet tank will help save water.

The way I look t it, we are saving oil for the real cold when the mini split won't work Yes, that's not a bad way to look at it. However the rest of us have to look at total system cost including installation since we are not DIY.
