So four years ago we were there at our invitation and then playing the role of victim when the Syrians and the Russians attacked the forces we were supporting.
Four years ago we were there at the invitation of the Kurds. We were building a base at Irbil that = no one admits it —we still use today. The Kurds were seen as a counterpoise to the treacherous Iraqis and Turks. Plus, we had been a protector of the Kurds for years and didn’t want another Middle East holocaust of which both the Iraqis and Turks were quite capable.
Wait. Our presence in Syria in justified because we're in the country at the invitation of the Kurds?
