Western civilization has morally collapsed, dragged there by Democrats, so art of any substance can’t be created.

Spoiler alert…..it does show Meryl Streep’s (or booty double) naked ass before she gets consumed., so , yeah, cellulite is still accurate.

Oh, and I thought that the unintended humor of Don’t LookUp was an excellent parody of Wear Your Mask., just sayin’. The movie was worth a bag of popcorn, while on the couch.

I watched Rocky (1976) last night - start to finish. Incredible film that we all underestimate(imo).

I'm waiting for the remake where both fighters are black and Rocky's side job isn't muscle for a loan shark, but rather a local drug dealer/aspiring rapper who is always feeling "dissed". Adrian won't work in a pet shop, rather she'll be an "influencer" on tik tok or youtube. Also the fight scenes will be all CGI of course.

“The Colonel Bogey March’’.

Yeah, that is a cool tune.

The Japs however were some brutal bastards.

I saw stats once that said 1% of Allied prisoners held captive by the Germans died in captivity.

The figure for the Japanese and Allied deaths in Japanese captivity was around 36%.

You will get an occasional good movie in modern times. But most of them are foreign or some special genre made by a studio that nobody has ever heard of . . . niche market type stuff. Outlander, to name one example, is pretty good.

That was part of the explanation for so many Japanese soldiers fighting to the death - they were taught to believe that the Allies would be as brutal to them. IIRC there was even a village that leaped to their deaths rather than surrender.

That era is over due to streaming. A lot of good stuff out there. Cobra Kai. Squid Game.

The last "Oscar" worthy movie that is saw in the theater was 1917. Well done. But too many flicks nowadays are made about superheroes or remakes or franchise like fast and furious. Studios are too afraid to risk money into a movie unless they know it'll turn a profit.

I don’t know about that. The ‘comic book’ kids can actually do better films than the ‘great lit’ crowd now - see how Spielberg’s last flick failed miserably.

Meanwhile, the ‘comic book’ group can make some impressive stuff. Check out this short film:

The moviemakers want to spill their spleen on you.

Who needs that?

That village was Okinawa. That is what convinced the US that dropping the bomb was the only way to get Japan to surrender.

I watched The Godfather last night, even took ne away from Trump's rally in GA. his year's Hollywood movie lineup...I'd rather watch The Godfather for the umteenth time.

That hasn’t been the case with super hero films.

A recent movie that I enjoyed was The Darkest Hour. Incredibly, there were no nude scenes, no sex scenes and no profanity--and it even featured a cat!

A small indie company with a DSLR camera can do better stories than Hollywood and its formula flicks that either push an agenda or kowtow to the international market.

Understood. But those usually are not “Oscar material.”

A showing of Homes and Watson with Will Ferral and Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly about halfway through after everyone headed for the doors.

Arguably one of the worst movies ever produced.

I’m a huge Shakespeare fan and so with the rave reviews I really wanted to like The Tragedy of McBeth but other than the witch scene, hated it.

Hollywood is DEAD!

They found out that no one needs them! (or wants them).

Movie theater? What’s that? Is that like a “phone booth”?
