when I hung up my keys you could buy a self shifting truck. you only had to run the clutch to get moving, then the computer took over.
I hear the computer runs the clutch now too. So the transmission is technically a manual but it’s fully computer controlled. just push the D button and go.
I think these trucks have lead to the current crop of idiot sellers.

That is really sad, and actually an epidemic. The job doesn’t require a lot of calories (unless you are running local/regional specialized. All the chaining, strapping, and tarping can be regular workouts.) The truck stops keep offering lots of fatty greasy foods. The Shell stations along US 72 in MS an AL have buffets that are mostly deep fried items.
People are conditioned to think that whatever they drink must be pop or a sports drink. No common sense about a healthy diet.
I entered the CDL OTR world at 47, after being a grain and livestock farmer and steel fabricator. I found out real quick that I needed to back off on the calories, and exercise regularly.

Hanging drywall badly isnât going to cause a multiple vehicle wreck and death and carnage on an interstate, however. Might cause a house owner a heart attack, but thatâs it.

Our 18 to 20 year olds in the military do great work with larger equipment and in far more stressful situations.
