Or people just don’t like rioting and looting in cold weather.

That happened months AFTER the shooting: the Trial!

You are correct. This is why the propaganda media continues to lie even after their lies have been completely exposed. A Sizable percentage of the population never learns the truth.

I do want people who disagree with this verdict on juries. I think the rest of the people on the juries would teach them a thing or two about the "real world."

They would have a judge and a bailiff to back them up.

Hm...my dad was stationed at the Naval Communication Station Cheltenham (near Andrews AFB) and I went to school at Surrattsville. It was an interesting place to live back in the early Seventies.

Funny. I kind of thought my case was an isolated kind of thing, but I guess it is more common than I thought.

Like I said, I would gladly serve Jury Duty now. Back then I was all about my duty to my employer, and I always felt too busy to hold that service in the regard I should have.

Plus, I just hate the whole thing of being there at a time, finding the right parking lot, and so on.

Now, it would be easy with GPS and stuff, and I am a calmer person now than I was back then. One of the cool things about getting older.

Yes...that is what bothered me. If other people I knew were summoned to Jury Duty, I wouldn’t have said boo.

But I went for long periods of time in large social circles and didn’t know ANYONE.

Funny. So back then, all those years ago, I thought I was on a list. Some list. Now, I have the same suspicion, because I always seem to get undue scrutiny at official places. It is a standing joke with my wife about how I seem to get noticed. When we fly, I am always the person they pull aside to scan manually.

When I have crossed the border into Canada, I have been stopped and singled out three times, once when I was a young man going north on vacation with my best friend and deserved it, once when my wife and were traveling together, and the last time was so unpleasant I don’t think I will ever go back to Canada again.

The point is, if my wife had any leeway to react if she didn’t want to risk seeing me get angrier, I think she would smile ever so slightly and probably put the tips of her fingers over her mouth...every time she can see it coming when I never did, and it would catch me by surprise though she expected it.

Now, as we pull up to things like a border or customs, we talk about it beforehand...:) It is more joking about it, as if she wants me to prepare for it.

I don’t know. I must have a face that triggers people. My wife thinks it is my navy hat I wear all the time. Heh, last time when I went up to Canada by myself in March of that year, I had gone by myself, they stopped me at 8 PM at the border, the place was like a deserted tomb, they took everything out of my car and searched it including all my pill containers.

Then, when I was leaving to go home, I got pulled over by two Canadian city police on a highway heading South, noontime, beautiful day, the roadway deserted. They asked me at least three times if I had guns, and I started to get pretty damn testy, but I stayed polite and professional.

They told me the proprietor of a gas station about 30 miles back called the police and said I filled my tank and left without paying. It was all a misunderstanding, and I suggested to the Cops I be allowed to go back and talk to the guy, and they said the owner had suggested that. So I went back and the guy laughed when I walked in, and he shouted out “I told them not to arrest you or be hard on you!”

Turns out I had filled my tank, went inside and got a soda, and when I paid, I only paid for the soda and didn’t check the credit card receipt. I thought the gas and the soda were both on there.

But after that...I thought “I don’t think I’ll visit Canada anymore...”

That was a great way you related that...when you “Set the scene” it really did make it sound like the telling of a script.

I only served on one jury in all those times I got called, and it was pretty straightforward, a drunk driving case being contested. Facts are facts.

Well, we like to think so, at least.

All I can say is “Wow!” you certainly have had a run of bad luck. I too am the only one among the people I know has has been called for jury duty as many times as I have. But the only time I ever drove into Canada was back in the ‘70s and I encountered no problems whatsoever, even though I was in my 20s and had long hair at the time.

LOL, I went up in the Seventies to the Maritimes in my yellow MG with a cooler tied on the back rack that hot July back in the early eighties.

Heh, they saw us coming, had us drive our car over to a bay, and they thoroughly searched the little car-pulling out the mats, emptying all the luggage and tent bag, even tapping out the poles on the ground.

We had a good time...eventually made it to the Moosehead Brewery!

You have, IMHO, a very rosy view of people that is not justified.

Judges are all lawyers, and most are at least liberals, if not outright Leftists. Further, once they become judges, they tend to get more arrogant and cocksure of themselves and the “infallability” of their views, arrived at using their “superior “ minds. I am a lawyer, and I see this all the time. Bailiffs have nothing to say during a trial, save a simple “yes” or “no” answer to a very rare question from the judge.

Most on the Left simply cannot be swayed by facts, logic or common sense, for the simple reason that they didn’t arrive at their beliefs using facts, logic or common sense, but rather via emotions. To admit that they’re wrong would destroy their worldview, and then they would have to admit that they’ve been wrong about most things for most of their lives. Few are honest or courageous enough to risk that by listening to facts, logic or common sense, let alone conservatives spouting the same.

Is that the appellate judges that we always see making wild leftist rulings at the federal level, or local trial judges who run municipal and superior state criminal courts?

Trial judges are about one person at a time. Federal appellate judges are the one making rulings that affect everyone at once.
