I would counter that with this - women, since getting the vote nationally, have consistently voted for pro-war candidates and largely supported going to war with other countries. However, they have no direct personal ‘skin’ in the game since they cannot be drafted to go fight and die in that war. As a matter of historical record, women have cheerfully voted to send their men to go fight and die for them in often unneccessary wars.
How, exactly, is that fair and equitable? Women might think long and hard about voting for a pro-war Democrat if they themselves were subject to being forced to fight and die in a war.
OK, I was mistaken, didn’t realize 45 year olds could be drafted. So, what’s your point?

I'm fully in favor of this change because having women getting angry about registering for the draft is one of the few things that could end up changing the policy on women in ground combat units.

We aren’t a country 15 miles wide with enemies ready to storm the border. And also, the Israelis do not use them the way you think they do. Also, we have a amendment forbidding involuntary servitude except as punishment for a crime. There is no exception for “unless it’s to send you to war”. Woodrow Wilson found his way around that by saying that when Congress declared war, the entire nation had volunteered through it’s representatives. So he created Selective Service that was merely choosing from a giant pool of “volunteers”.

45 is not exactly the ‘prime birthing age’ listed in your post. Even 36 is considered getting up there by many, and that’s the ‘normal’ upper limit.
It’s also worth noting that by forcing women to register for the draft, the backlash might be enough to end the farce that’s known as Selective Service entirely, for everyone.
