Fauci seems to have missed the Cultural Revolution part of Chinese history.
Not only will the Chinese communists kill their own people, they will eat them, torture, execute or starve them to death and/or cut them up for organ's to be sold for spare parts.
During WW2 the Chinese blew up a damn on the Yellow River and killed 800,000 Chinese to stop a Japanese advance. Killing Chinese in large lots doesn’t bother the Chinese government at all. Their population is so big the murdering their own citizens is simply not significant.

China just said they will "ALLOW" 3 children per family since birth rates are down. Sounds like they may be creating an army. Do they still have the mandate that only male births are acceptable?
