It would not surprise me to learn that COVID-19 was developed for that purpose, killing the aged, weak and medically compromised (useless eaters in communist terms) while the younger, healthy and fit (the “workers”) generally recover.
When it escaped prematurely they saw a target of opportunity, to test it on the rest of the world. So they allowed or encouraged travel from Wuhan to other countries but not to the rest of China.

The question of whether it escaped from the lab is different from whether it was deliberately released. Fauci is conflating the two, so as to make it easier for himself to portray people backing the lab leak theory as kookie. It will of course work with the idiots who watch CNN.

I know but he is taking the most extreme possibility of the lab theory(they released it on purpose) and using that to call any possible lab related origin crazy (like accidental leak)
