Well, that was my question. If this kid was such a model student, from such a great family, what the hell was she doing in a foster care home. Looks like a pretty damn nice neighborhood. Does foster mom make the mortgage payments with the foster care checks?
We should assume MaKiah had a pretty hard life, wonder how many years she had been in foster care and how many homes?
I was a volunteer in a Columbus Realtors group for a reading program where we went into the public schools once a month and read to elementary kids. While I was reading one day to first graders, this darling little black boy raised his hand and asked if he could tell me something. I said sure, he then said “my daddy shot and killed my mom and I live with a foster mom now”. . I just melted, went to him and gave him a big hug, just heartbreaking. Afterwards, I talked to the teacher. He was six and had been in three foster homes in one year. So, God only knows what these kids have seen in their lives.
I wouldn't be surprised if she did. There are rumors going around that some foster parents are in it for the extra money and don't care about the kids.

You can’t imagine how damaged some foster kids are. I know foster parents who have taken in many foster kids, and are specially trained to take in severely damaged kids. They adopted the last one several years ago, who had been physically, sexually, and emotionally abused from birth til he was taken in to their care at age 7. His birth father was a “preacher”, who will never get out of prison for what he and the mother did to him. The boy is sweet, but has some developmental delay and learning disabilities.
Probably does, and I don't see anything wrong with that.
The foster care checks are supposed to pay for feeding, clothing, housing and raising the kids.
Paying the mortgage is part of the housing. Or do you expect foster care to only be done in a slum? And a rented slum at that.

From what I read somewhere the guy doing the kicking is Ma’Khia’s bio-dad. He’s kicking a girl that was fighting with Ma’Khia. Kicked her twice that I could see in the video. The girl is a minor also.
