"It’s gonna take more aholes with squeegees and snow [emphasis added] shovels than that to keep yer solar panels clear"

Thank you for mentioning snow.

What is Gov. Wolf thinking? An excuse for government employees to take a day off?

On the other hand, England has invested in solar panels, so why not Pennsylvania?

361,000 megawatt-hours = 0.361 terawatt-hours, 0.16% of Pennsylvania's current annual generation.

Make sure they get heaters for the fan blades.

Based on your highly informative pie graph, I would say to Gov. Tom regarding solar energy, “Good luck with that”

I passed by IBMs virtue signaling solar farm down in Boulder the other day. It was covered in snow.

Yeah that’s gonna work out well for 5 months of a Pennsylvania year.

Mostly this is just creative accounting. 50% of the government’s use of electricity. Just tabulate the total use and make sure the state has half as much in solar power available. Mission accomplished.

It’s not like they are going to put the state facilities on their own grid.

When I lived in the Mid-Atlantic region, I looked into solar power. Definitely now something you want to depend on. Here in Arizona it makes sense. Right now I am supplying the grid with clean electricity and it is only costing the electric company $0.19 a KWH.

Reading is hard

Easier to quickly scan and type angrily

I would say look at the bright side, they’ll only be able to work half as much but I’m sure it will a be grid tied system so that they never lose power.

It’s a gravy train for contractors who are expected to kick back campaign contributions.

I would guess that the percentage of natural gas has increased since 2014 in PA.
Cheaper natural gas from fracking in PA has increased the use of that energy source and lowered the amount of coal being burned. The direct result is much cleaner air for everyone downwind.

Still 0.36 TWh out of more than 220 TWh is a very expensive drop in a bucket. I betcha these are about 0.36 most expensive TWh in the batch.

Does Wolf’s plan include snow removal in the winter when shorter days already reduce the amount of sunlight?

Several inch or so of snow is all it takes to doom a solar panel.

Well that will certainly reduce electricity consumption...won’t be any around to charge those Teslas....or heat your house, or cook your food....if you are fortunate enough to have food...

Convert all the toilets in the PA State Capitol to solar powered since the place is already full of shit.

I believe you misunderstood my post. NG has increased since 2014 because NG is now cheaper than most other energy sources.
Natural gas is also a lot cleaner than burning coal. So, the added benefit is cleaner air.
