Too bad all of DC can’t get lost in a tragic boating accident.
And everyone will have very intrusive tax forms to complete valuing your entire net worth, that you will get to complete each year, making sure the government (and big tech) have a thorough understanding of everything about you.

Of course, all those rich people with a house and a meager salary who work will be the target. This welfare state is unsustainable.
In the past, some states had different versions of ‘wealth taxes’. They depended upon you providing the information truthfully, or else...
& you will bend over again after you are gone when they get rid of "The Step Up in Basis", they will snag all your assets, you nailed it, collector cars, jewelry, etc etc.
I got nothing but guff about this one:

No more goose, no more golden egg, no more wealth.
Once the assets have been taken, they don't magically reappear to tap into again.

I'm from out West and I had never heard of a personal property tax before I got a letter from the revenue department saying I had to pay taxes on the stuff I owned, like the cars, the refrigerator, the furniture, etc. I couldn't believe it.
I just ignored it because we were only there a year before being transferred but I made a mental note to never move to Missouri again.
Gotta refill that stimulus check bucket.
Once you take someone’s wealth away from them, the pot will be empty. It doesn’t replenish itself.

But you only tax them if their wealth is over $50 million. So you may tax someone and drive their wealth down to a $50 million level and then you stop taxing them. Liberal logic is anyone should be able to live a lifetime on $50 M, no one needs any more.
Anybody smart enough to have assets worth over $50 million is not going to pump more income into their net worth so the liberals can steal it again.
My point is that taxing people's wealth is the same as stealing their assets. Those assets will not continue to produce more wealth for the government to steal.
This wealth tax is one and off wet dream of the democRATS.
Keep in mind any proposed tax increases is not about deficits. They are about the progressive dream of redistribution of wealth and social engineering.

“rich” will be continually reduced until it’s everyone, except those rich enough to hide all their assets
