You’re going to give up taking the chance at hundreds of millions in gold because you’re worried a park ranger might find you?

My sentiments exactly. I see our government as just a notch better than the old Soviet Union. I would not trust them.

What about Sam Giancana?

The possibilities are endless...

Yes, they were, indeed, completely stupid to contact the government.

As for the issue of ownership, it has been so long since the gold was lost that I think the U.S. government has lost the title to it.

But it has been a long time since I studied property law.

Would they, if they had the chance?

Would a bear do it's business in the woods?

🤔

It would be interesting to see how many FBI agents retired suddenly in the intervening few months...............

If Spain and Mexico can claim gold at the bottom of the seas for 500 years, then the US government should be able to claim gold found in their own dirt...............

There can be no justification whatsoever for forcing them to wait in the car over 160 year old buried anything. There will be no one to prosecute, no national security implications. Nothing. This is F Troop at it again. They are covering something up.

there’s a big controversy by conspiracy peeps as to whther or not fort knox has any actual gold- they claim the gov has sold most of it of

Ft Knox contains lots of gold. Unfortunately, the vast majority of it is not owned by the government. I have personally seen Feral reports that documents the sales over number of years. It was a long time ago though.

The FBI was well within its rights to confiscate the gold if it believed it was destined for the U.S. Mint.

Actually, no.

That gold belonged to whoever shipped it. Back then the mint had a very different role than it has come to have today. The mint's job was to certify the weight and fineness of the gold by casting it into then standard, recognizable coins and returned those coins to whoever brought or sent them to the mint. In return for this service it kept some of the gold as a fee known as seigniorage.

Trusting the government was their mistake. Very costly one at that.

There was a show on with william shatner=- can’t remember the name- but they had a segment about Ft Knox where peeps were claiming it was empty, or near empty- They claim the rooms that are supposed to house the gold are empty- and the two rooms they showed reporters back awhile ago, were filled with fake bars with gold covering of soem kind- they tried to prove it by showing a few of the photos fro m that visit, and claiming that the different shades in the different photos proved the bars weren’t really gold- but the fact is, the different photos were taken under different lighting- it was kind of a silly segment-

In the UK if you find valuable artifacts you get fair market value for the find and it actually is fair market value.

If it can be stolen, the FBI will steal it.
