Barr needs to be canned, like yesterday!
I wouldn’t be surprised if this turns out to be the reason Barr turned Durham into a special counsel. Not to investigate the deep state crimes he clearly already whitewashed but rather to investigate Trump. And Biden can say ‘hey, I didn’t appoint him. But I can’t interfere with an ongoing investigation now ...’

Axios supposedly has a story that pardons were being offered, not purchased.....something to do with immigration.
I suspect they’re trying to discredit Guiliani for offering a pardon. Or Powell (unlikely)

No way is Trump needing or wanting to take petty bribes for pardons.
Besides, Susan B. Anthony does not have the kind of money to afford to pay bribes in exchange for pardons.
FWIW, below is a DOJ list of all pardons by President Trump. Most seem to be in the interest of justice or righting an injustice. Not many seem to have even the. remote possibility of being a Clinton Mark Rich style pardon for profit scheme. Most people pardoned don't appear to have a lot of money or deep pocket benefactors to underwrite a proper bribe. My bet is some POS dirt bag is trying to manufacture a paper trail to frame some one in the Trump Administration just like Amb Bill Taylor tried to put words into Gordon Sondlond's mouth about the Zelensky call to manufacture an impeachment case against President Trump

Barr could defuse this whole thing by making a simple statement: “I want the record to be clear, the DOJ is merely investigating alleged misconduct by low-level staffers. We have neither seen, nor are investigating, any malfeasance by the person of the POTUS.”
And that would be the end of that.
But Bill (”no evidence of election fraud”) Barr will not do that. He will make a muted statement: “We do not comment on active investigations.”
And this will be only add fuel to the fire.
I don’t think it will stop him, but I think they hope it will. They have done everything they can to stop him from getting anything accomplished.
Why are you here?
Giuliani’s litigation failed.
Powell’s did not.
Those are publicly verifiable facts.
