Why? The official color of the Republican party is blue. I haven't been able to find any Dem stuff declaring official colors, but the color of a commie is red.

It used to be that election maps were colored differently - incumbents were associated with blue, and challengers with red. It was only about 2000 that the media tried to start sticking Repubs as red, because they wanted to disassociate the Dems from anything Commie as much as possible.

Yup. Like I mentioned, around 2000 is when they stopped using the incumbent/challenger scheme and instead did the Repub-red, Dem-blue color scheme.

Then why keep doing it? When you let the Dems define the terms, you're already sacrificing a major advantage to them. Not many do, but there's a couple other posters here that apply the proper colors and give the Commies their correct red coloring!
