I have a friend that left the JW. He never voted before. I helped him get registered and he and his brother will be voting for the first time ever.

I also helped a neighbor get registered to vote.

I dated a Mennonite girl for awhile. She was “modern” in many ways. I’m not sure what she saw in me because I was pretty wild & crazy back then. Maybe I was a project for her.

Got the idea from the tracts included with our Mennonite homeschool curriculum explaining why Mennonites don’t vote. They are citizens of heaven, not of this world. The doctrine was also repeated in some of the curriculum.

Good to know, though religious tracts were included with our homeschool curriculum from a Mennonite company explaining why they don’t vote. Perhaps it’s a doctrine that isn’t really followed 🤷‍♀️?

I agree. Most looked like good ol’ boys on horseback. Not many Amish there. And I doubt Amish would allow their buggies to be decorated with posters and signs. I say this as a Pennsylvanian who has lived near Amish areas in the state all my life.

I work with the Horse & Buggy Amish and Mennonite on a daily basis. While there are many variations in each religion, you virtually never see them wear blue jeans.

My office does the tax work for over 600 Amish & Mennonite farmers.
