I would rather see us control the court for generations than to see Trump re-elected.
Replace Ginsburg now and hope for the best,.

Considering how the dems are freaking out over this, it is clearly far more important than most people realize. And needs to be done ASAP.
I agree. The most impactful action a president can take is appointing a Supreme Court Justice, because it is a lifetime appointment. Laws and executive orders can be changed or overturned.
Unfortunately; I don't think the feckless, spineless republicans in the senate want the so-called "bad optics" of confirming a supreme court justice just before the election due to the passing of a member of the court, despite the fact that the dems would fast-track an appointment and a confirmation if the roles were reversed.

I think most FReepers, most people who pay attention, and most lawyers realize just how important this is. Arguably this is more important than President Trump winning re-election himself. It is absolutely critical that Trump appoints Ginsburg's replacement and not Biden. This has to be done.

Too late, Hillary!!
The 'Rats have already shown themselves the anti-Law & Order Party in 2020, bent on tearing down 'the system.' Trump can smirk and say these folks are NPCs at this point. He can just smile and say, "That's nice, Democrats." and have the Senate take the vote.
Rat allies have attacked LEOs, Federal buildings, and have actively signaled they want to pack the Court. They have zero interest in serious dialogue in this routine institutional decision -- they're trashing the game board and walking away.
I am also delighted they have to expend political resources on this situation right now, as well as campaigns and GOTVF (fraud) efforts.

Thw bitch still doesn't get that she's not liked or popular outside NYC and Los Angeles.
Also what are they dems going to do? They are going to get their paid for rioters to start destroying everything in their path? Start shooting Trump supporters and cops? OH WAIT!
Looks like they're out of scare tactics. Nobody is interested in their outrage anymore.

The Democrats who are in the Senate will have to use every single possible maneuver that is available to them to make it clear that they are not going to permit Mitch McConnell to enact the greatest travesty, a monument to hypocrisy that would arise from him attempting to fill this position. The beautiful thing about a quote like this is that it makes it easier for the GOP to quickly dismiss any opposition to this SCOTUS nominee as political theatrics.

I would rather see us control the court for generations than to see Trump re-elected. The only problem there is that I have no confidence in any Republican Supreme Court nominee to actually rule according to constitutional principles once hes on the court.

“Constitutional Principles”...for the UniParty in Washington..have a dollar sign attached to them somewhere
The “judicial and legislative challenge” in Washington DC, is to find it. Its safer for all involved to let them find it

When I read this quote I have visions of Democrat Senators collapsing on the Senate floor and faking injuries or cardiac episodes to delay hearings and votes. LOL.
