I reload my Creedmoor ammo. Have about a hundred loads and plan on more this week. Not just for deer season but for practice and God forbid the crazies if they should scatter to the sticks.
Hoping my harvester 300 gets approved in quick order but they just cashed my tax stamp fee. Going to be a while.

I traded 50 rounds of 9mm for 50 rounds of 5.56 with a guy at work yesterday. 5.56 and 9mm are damn near impossible to get right now.
In a real SHTF scenario ammo will be used as money. You can get what you need of you have something that everyone else wants.

I recently went on a local expedition to find pistol ammo for myself and several family members.
I was shocked. Utterly dumbfounded.
My list was self defense rounds in .40, .38, .357 and .380.
First I got online to research everyone in the area that advertised ammo sales in the Yellow Pages. Then I set and route, list in hand.
Eight stores and most of the day to discover nobody has nuthin’.

The point is to be able to stay practiced and proficient in the period between a manufacturing shut down (or sale prohibition) and the attempts to confiscate your weapons. (or fend off an attack).
When a few melons get popped and the word gets around, it'll be like woodchucks racing back to their holes. That'll fizzle out real quick.
I’ve noticed. Places like Academy Sports were cleaned out. At the gun show I went to recently, amp was available but not at prices I was remotely willing to pay. Thank goodness I still have over 10,000 rounds of various calibers. It may be a while before ammo prices get back to normal.

...AND to have enough to supply to your like minded neighbors when banding together...my anti- gun 78 year old neighbor now fully understands the need for a firearm after a “ frightening” incident occurred. He now sees clearly, is armed , confident and most of all not fearful....simply amazing what peace of mind a .38 wheel gun can instill....mankind’s two greatest “ equalizers” have been money ( it preserves your labor) and firearms.
