there is a strong basis to think this may be a useful drug. I know it was being used in panama early on in this though not sure now. My understanding is trials are now in progress - not sure which countries are using it as a mainline treatment.

The trend toward quashing use of repurposed (and potentially effective) meds in western countries is very alarming, to say the least.

Ivermectin doesn’t kill tapeworms.

Ivermectin does snot kill tape worms. Just about all others.

There is one thing that I would warn all about.

For cattle, there are three or more versions of ivermectin.

There is a pour on, one they call Ivermec Plus and the standard plain old ivermectin.

The “plus” will also kill liver flukes in cattle....but it will kill dogs so I would definitely advise people not to try it.

Only the plain ivermectin, which is used in cattle, horses, dogs (exccept collies and some other shepard breeds), pigs, goats and whatever.

In dogs, it will also get rid of ear mites, dramatically reduce skin problems and those of us who have large hunting hound kennels use it on a monthly basis.

It also will prevent heart worms.....

Never heard of a dangerous side deffect in any animal other than collies or related breeds.

It is on the medicine cabinet shelf of every livestock breeder.

I would never suggest the paste many horse people use. There are things other than ivermectin in it and it is very hard to calculate exactly how much paste equals how much ivermectin.

“Oh but it is very dangerous and has terrible side effects”

I am old enough to remember when it first became available and every single veterinarian in practice was telling people that it would make their dogs go blind, turn them into zombies staggering around blind and dumb and that whatever we did we must only use the wormer they prescribed for our dogs.

And then take your dog in the back room and give it ivermectin because they could treat hundreds of dogs for less money than one dose of the pills in common use in those days.

They used to say that money talks and bullshit walks....today you can't tell the difference when the topic is the wu-flu.

That said, I am suggesting or recommending nothing, just giving a little history lesson. You are on your own.

It’s been suggested as an anti-cancer drug, on the premise that Cancer might be a type of fungus.

(Nothing to lose if you choose to try it. Just measure the dose so it’s suitable to your weight, and not the weight of a 1200 pound horse.)

couple that with demand for a fast vaccine
vaccine manufacturers are not liable for negative side effects

There was a big flurry of reporting on Ivermectin at the beginning of April after the Australian study was announced...then nothing more was heard about it.

ClinicalTrials.gov lists an Italian double-blind with placebo study of Ivermectin for COVID, but the last update was in June and recruiting of test subjects had not started.

Was this a brief flash-in-the-pan?
