It’s amazing how much anthropologists can make up... er, I mean detect from a few bones.
The article opines that Goliath is the best-known Philistine now. But what about Delilah? Sexist author!
Biblical archaeology ping!
“Biggest Bible Mystery”? I dunno.
I always wanted to know for sure what that “firmament” was, or the Sons of Heaven and “Heroes of Reknown” that came about when the Sons of Heaven came together with the “Daughters of Men”.
Heck, I would have liked to know more about who Cain, Abel, Seth (and any other sons) married in those early years.
The sea people?
Did one of the stiffs have a note in his back pocket that says, “From this day forward we will be known as ‘Palestinians” and we own the title to all the land.”
Why am I thinking of a rock group?
Hey Pharmboy...been a while.
Nice to hear from you.
According to the title, That biggest bible mystery has been solved.........There's nothing left for you to look forward to........LOL!
And e Romans named Israel after them when the Jews were defeated - called it Palestine; in Hebrew, Philistine means ‘invader’
I had always assumed that the Palestinians were descendants of the Philistines but archaeologists say no.
It does seem they were a pretty fair opponent of the Israelite’s. Often winning against them.
If they are all missing their foreskins, and *not* via infant circumcision ......
So once again archeology proves the Bible correct
Which brings me back to the excavation in Ashkelon. After analyzing DNA from the site, Michal Feldman, an archaeogeneticist at the Max Planck Institute, and Daniel Master, the head of the expedition, revealed the results. Master announced, Our study has shown for the first time that the Philistines immigrated to this region in the 12th century (BC). And from where did they immigrate? According to Feldman, This [DNA] ancestral component is derived from Europe, or to be more specific, from southern Europe, so the ancestors of the Philistines must have traveled across the Mediterranean and arrived in Ashkelon sometime between the end of the Bronze age and the beginning of the Iron age. : Archaeology, genetics confirm Bible story of Philistines' origins
Now, a study of genetic material extracted from skeletons unearthed in the Israeli coastal city of Ashkelon in 2013 has found a DNA link. It connects the Philistines to populations in southern Europe during the Bronze Age. The study, spearheaded by researchers from Germanys Max Planck Institute and Wheaton College in Illinois, was published Wednesday in the research journal Science Advances. . .The study found that the remains dating to the early Iron Age the period associated with many of the stories involving Philistines in the Bible were genetically distinct from their Levantine neighbors, and had close similarities with populations in southern Europe.: Scholars say Philistine genes help solve biblical mystery
one thing for sure. Arafatistanians are not Philistines
Wake me when they dig up and claim they have found Elija’s chariot of fire.
The Philistine history and culture is reveiled in the Bible, why do we waste time and treasure trying to prove what’s already true?
you’re not any kin to pharmer phil v. & socks c. are you
