ROTFLMAO!
Thanks.
agree.
Gator Navy (U.S. Marines Naval Ship)
Is one of the ships moving out? I thought I saw one on the one of the feeds.
Prayers up for all involved.
There are plenty of commie agents in the military. There are even gangs in the military.
Way down south in a private commercial yard. We did a pretty good bit of Navy work at one time, mostly guided missile cruisers and frigates. We did Military Sealift Command vessels recently.
So I am wondering, would the aircraft inside the hanger deck have been removed before re-fit? Maybe that’s whats burning.
have a bit of knowledge on this, my wife having been stationed on the USS Wasp(LHD-1). the air wings fly onto the ship after leaving port, and fly off before pulling into port.
I’ll tell you one thing, it’s an awesome sight seeing those flight decks, and the well decks empty amd you’re able to see how massive they are!
Where? I’m not scanning thru 1-1/2 hours of film for that....!
SDFD has trucks on the dock with hose
Yeah, I always preferred pier 13, and pier 2 was my least favorite. I did a couple deployments on the Peleiu myself. Small world.
The fire boats don’t know how to work the nozzles. They can’t seem to get their water on the boat. It just falls into the water, mostly.
*** “As a former Navy firefighter. Most ships are lost due to fire, not loss of watertight integrity” ***
I have been through a few fires... people think that steel doesn’t burn ... it doesn’t but everything on it and in it does.
We practiced Damage Control the most for Fire than Watertight Integrity also Cleaning any fluids as well as good ol needlegun to remove layers of paint.
My First Ship rescued and helped with The USS Forrestal and it was not lost on us.
(I came onboard after the Forrestal but it was drilled into us with Films and Lessons Learned) as well as Senior Petty Officers/Instructors who were there at the time)
Also, the fire now seems to be contained in an area about midway between the bow and superstructure of the BHR. That's a bit of good news and at least some progress.
