Obviously any connections like that are just a tinfoil conspiracy theory. I gotta head down to Nicaragua now in the TR-3B. We must never propagate tinfoil conspiracy theories.

The cat has been out of the bag on the Mena operation for years. You can probably pencil in the redacted portions of the report for yourself if you have been doing any reading or watched the movie about Seal.

The medical students in Grenada would beg to differ.

War is hell and in its fog there are situations where good guys seem bad and bad guys seem good. Best to make no judgment until the battlefield is clear. The victors write history.

Our fabled celebrated WWII Vets bombed Dresden and all its priceless art treasures for no damn good reason except for one, to break the spirit of Germans letting them know Hell has no bounds on morality.

Ollie did well but the Devil tied him in knots.

Serves as a reminder that since the election of Bill Clinton, the USA has become a nation of lawlessness and corruption. Industry, churches, schools, civic organizations have all fallen to the Beast since.

Trump was going to drain the swamp, instead he’s realized it’s an ocean.

Another great trip down memory lane and a peek at how the world really works, then and now, when those people are in charge.

I had seen it all before. Here’s my favorite explanation from Miami Vice, season 2 episode 1: Prodigal Son when Crockett and Tubbs confront J. J. Johnston, the evil banker behind the curtain.

Apparently, I’m not the only one who remembered that guy and this scene, as I got the dialogue from here:

"Hi there, we're the cops you've been trying to kill," Crockett says forcefully.

Johnston, his back to them in a gesture of disrespect, proceeds to display his inside knowledge of the cops' anemic bank accounts and debt troubles.

Crockett remains unimpressed: "You goin' somewhere with this, or are you just runnin' laps?"

The patrician Johnston sits down, pours a glass of water, and contemplates it.

The Value of Money

“Money is a commodity, like oil or water," Johnston soliloquizes, in a superior manner. "And that American dollar, is the best brand there is in the world.

Now those of us who have it, can make more of it, by loaning it to those that don't.

Not so long ago, our bank loaned a lot of money to our friends in Latin America. We are talking about hundreds of millions of dollars.

Now they aren't going to repay that by selling straw bags and clay pots. If these Latin borrowers default, we would be decimated.

And we are America. We are the entire free world. When we sneeze, everybody catches cold.

That is why, it's very, very important, that we nurture and protect our Latin brothers' major cash crops."

"Especially those that he measures in kilos," Tubbs offers slyly.

"Are you sure you wouldn't like a drink?" Johnston asks coldly.

What I want is answers," Crockett responds, with intensity.

"I want to know why a Wall Street address is running interference for a couple of bloodthirsty Colombian peasants.

I want to know why murder and mayhem are suddenly footnotes on a balance sheet."

"Look," Johnston counters condescendingly, like a parent talking to a child. "All you need to know is that you're just along for the ride. It's a big boat--why rock it?"

"I don't give a damn if it's the U.S.S. Enterprise, pal, or who's on it or why," Crockett retorts. "Our job is to rock it. And if it sinks--so what?"

"I doubt that's going to happen," Johnston counters, unbowed.

"No?" asks Tubbs a bit playfully. "How's it go now?

Discreet phone call to some Ivy League buddy?

A little button-down talking and suddenly two South Dade cops become tin ducks in a shooting gallery, without backup for a major bust."

"That door," Johnston utters, dismissing them, "leads to the outer hallway."

Tubbs goes to the door. Crockett follows.
He gets the last word.

"I can't touch you; I know that," Crockett tells Johnston. "Too many roadblocks and politics, favors.

But you're dirty, Ace. And I'm patient."

See what I mean?

When Clinton was elected, I already had a working understanding of the value of money and clay pots.

We’ve been progressed a long, long way from then until now.

And we would have been made to stay on this road to its utterly dead end were it not for President Donald J. Trump and all he’s brought with him.

the fact that he destroyed records means that there is a lot of stuff we don’t know about what he was doing....just as bad as hillery bleach biting her hard drives.

You are making a false comparison like comparing Vietnam veteran Jorge Otero Barreto with Cuba’s Che Guevara.

Colonel North defended those that risked their lives and reputation joining him in going up against the murderous Marxist Sandinistas.

Again the fog of war.

To the 18th century British, General George Washington was a traitor whose lies cost lives. He indeed was a liar, in a good way. To his friends and supporters, he would never lie, would always act with honor.

Judgment depends on where you sit.

The swamp was operating in Reagan ‘s era just as it is today.

General Flynn was described here on FR just last year as a villain. I was a lone voice of dissent calling him what he is, a hero and patriot.

Fog of war. Again, best to stand on the sidelines and withhold judgment.

I don’t think any of us actually realized how big and deep that swamp really was. We knew the Democrats were scumbags, and to what lengths they would go, because we’ve seen it before, but the amount of infestation in the various government agencies is horrendous. I don’t think it will ever be cleaned out totally, and those cockroaches only breed more cockroaches.

I have a nearly 30 yr career in Finance. I can assure anyone watching this, that the Clinton’s to now have used others to create a system that is so completely owned and manipulated by the progressive left that it’s almost impossible to remove/change short of a massive RICO case or revolt.

yes the swamp did exist and I believe Oliver north was part of the swamp back in the 1980s ….either we are country of laws that are obeyed by our bureaucrats or we are not....just because I liked one or two aspect of what the guy was up to does not mean that he was not dirty... Oliver North is just part of the Swamp that was in republican hands when he was in Washington. the swamp is a bi-Partison problem. I don’t believe the republicans have as many Swamp creatures as the demacrat have but they are there and are a problem.

According to the logic that you are using if I agree with what they are doing they are patriots if I don’t agree with what they are doing they are swamp creatures.

according to me a swamp creature is a bureaucrat that oversteps his mandate of action within the buracracy and starts enacting policy that has no legitimacy. legitimacy is given for actions by either executive direction from the president or by laws passed by the legislature.

the destruction of records by Oliver north are only legitimate if he was directed to do so by congressional law or if directed by the executive branch....according to the law those records were destroyed ilegally

> “I believe Oliver north was part of the swamp back in the 1980s”

Wrong. He was fighting the Swamp, he was targeted by those in Congress who were on the side of Daniel Ortega.

North shredded documents to protect others that had joined him in fighting the Sandinistas, covering for them from being railroaded by enemies holding office in Congress.

Hillary Clinton shredded documents and deleted files to protect all those in her circle of corruption who like her hated the United States.

Big difference in motives.

I don’t judge but you do. I never said North didn’t deserve prison, I said people that don’t know the facts in a war situation should stand on the sidelines and STFU.

That goes for you.

I notice you had nothing to say about the Clintons in the subject of this thread who were up to their eyeballs in Mena corruption but you had plenty to say about Oliver North who had nothing to do with Mena.

Nice try trolling. You flamed out.

my thoughts on the Clintons is that they are tied to the Bushes and were working together all theses years. at the time that the drugs were flying in to mena Bush senior ran the CIA. The Bush family gave us the Clintons.

Too bad with your 30 years of experience in finance, you hadn’t gone to work for the Federal Government to track down these criminals. When I was in my mid to late 30’s, (back in the 80’s), and started working on my Bachelor’s Degree, they were looking for people who were interested in getting a Criminal Justice degree with a focus on white collar crime. You would have had to take bookkeeping, and other related courses, and I wasn’t great with math and such. History was my interest.
