Trump should do this. And then he should tell them, "Who's your daddy now, bitches?"

They are Americans and private citizens not on active duty. They have as much right to be a-holes as anyone else now.

The fact that the officer class of the United States is under the control of the Elected Civilian President and that these officers accept the President as the Commander In Chief has been important to the survival of our republic.

That the United States has never suffered a military coup is quite remarkable.

Don’t take it lightly that these generals are making noises of disdain to a sitting president. If that disdain were to get traction in active duty junior officers things could get ugly.

The worst thing that could happen is that too many people think that “It can’t happen here”.

I’m surprised that he isn’t hiding in a corner somewhere.

He *is* hiding in a corner, with regards to the FBI, leftist bureaucrats, backstabbing Republicans, and Obama leftovers.

Whining about it on Twitter isn't leadership. It looks weak.

They should be recalled & court-martialed; all reduced in rank by at least two grades and military retirement benefits adjusted to reflect that rank.

What do you expect? President Trump’s political position is weak due to the lack of support from his own party.

Just yesterday Senator Graham gave the green light to the Pentagon to continue their coupist activities when he praised Milley’s attack on POTUS.

All in the swamp know it is open season on POTUS and there will be no Congressional oversight in support of him. President Trump is flying solo and sometimes that makes things ugly.

In retirement, the farther they get from killing people and blowing things up, the more they’re overtaken by withdrawal, and insanity begins to take over. Intellectual independence and the military are like oil and water. Not being able any longer to order people to STFU and to punish the for wandering off the reservation has to be a downer.

please do so- this disrespect of a commanding in Chief is absolutely disgraceful and demoralizing to the military as a whole- if there is this kind of disrespect at the top- it will infest those that serve under them to the point where loyalties will be questionable- and the military will suffer- Disrespect is a cancer, and must be cut out before it metastasizes

From the article...The outspoken retired officers know they could be held to account, the JAG officer said.

They know that nothing will come of their insubordination...they are politicians.
In the army, one doesn't become a 4-star general unless being mainly a politician.

This retired Army Officer will tell you they know it would never happen. They know the cultural revolution has begun in America and they are safely on the right side to not pay any price for their treachery.

Yes, indeed, but why do I think that will never happen?

Uh, Experience and Wisdom?

Yes, I remember that section of the UCMJ (am a Vet) which gets down to the question whether their commissions were terminated technically upon retirement or not.

Technically aren't they just transferred to reserves, where they would be subject to their rules? Reserves and NG take the same oath as actives do.

If you’re an inactive reservist receiving the retainer fee, called military retirement, you ARE subject to the UCMJ until you officially, in writing cut ties with the US or become a citizen of another country.

You can be recalled into active duty up until the 30th anniversary of your initial enlistment or age 62 (I think), whichever comes first.

The problem is that the high visibility officers can influence the present officer ranks. Although not in any oath of office, it is understood that the oath includes not becoming or acting like an “a-hole.” That is part of the “preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the USA.”

Mattis has disrespected his Commander in Chief, not in words alone, but with a disgusting glare. Mattis is trouble.
