BUFFALO POLICE DEPARTMENT 57 OFFICERS RESIGN ... Supporting Cops Who Shoved Man

the entire Emergency Response Team at the Buffalo Police Department has resigned in a show of solidarity for the cops suspended for shoving an elderly man to the ground.

A total of about 57 officers walked off the job Friday, though they are still employed with the police department -- just no longer on the ERT ... according to WIVB reporter Dave Greber.

The move comes less than 24 hours after video surfaced showing cops in heavy gear shoving 75-year-old Martin Gugino even though he was NOT being physically confrontational. A rep for Buffalo PD allegedly told a lcoal reporter the man was injured when he "tripped and fell," but the video shows that's clearly not the case.

Gugino started bleeding from his head and lay motionless immediately after his head hit the pavement.

The Buffalo Police Commissioner took swift action in announcing the 2 officers involved were suspended without pay. The Mayor of Buffalo said he was deeply disturbed over the incident, adding the elderly man is in serious but stable condition.

You are right. The Police need to develop counters for it. These are professionals. They are not amateurs. And they are disciplined. Oh, they may have some of their bullet stoppers out there, but the actors know what they ate doing to get the desired response.

There were a bunch of protestors that they were pushing back. I’m guessing they gave the protestors their 4 or 5 warnings to disperse and then when they didn’t the cops pushed forward.

The old guy comes up to the police and confronts them, and is toughing them.

They can’t stop to arrest the guy as they don’t have the protestors controlled yet. The cop that did tried to help the guy got told to leave him and stay in the line to push the protestors back. The cop that told him got on his radio, and I imagine it was to call in aid for the old guy - but obviously just a presumption.

Their job was to control the situation first, and then help the old guy. It would be interesting to know how long it took help to get to him. I imagine not too long.

Sorry. Meant to say stumbling. He wasn’t stumbling, either.

Word is he was using an app that would spoof the police radios so he can jam them later. He has a history as a “peace activist”, in other words a commie.

I once had a member of LE give me his take on the use of force: that the force should be commensurate with the threat. I think my acquaintance would argue that the threat posed by the geezer poking the cop with the phone did not warrant the geezer being sent to the ground. If unable to arrest, brush aside, ignore, threaten to call the perp’s wife.

“...Yep.....and he was forewarned as well...when a cop tells you to get out of the way you do it! He was defiantly interfering in their line of duty.......”

I’m no fan of cops. I’ve had several “run-ins” in my younger years, but I do respect em and could never do the job that they do. I treat them with respect and politeness. I do as they tell me to do. This moronic azzclown should have known better. It looks like his fall was almost staged. He deliberately provoked the confrontation...he had it coming. That officer should never have been fired over that.

Reposting the video still shows your biased narrative.

Didn’t “shove him down”

False narrative.

He was aggressive in their faces as they moved forward. He was pushed away, took a few steps back and tripped.

My 94 y/o mom has better balance.

Papa Smurf chose poorly.

If the geezer made contact with the cop, why didn’t they cop just arrest and cuff the geezer? Wouldn’t that have been the proper way to deal with the old man?

Maybe at one time. Now they just let the criminals out of jail.

He’s an activist. That’s what he wanted. Each arrest potentially takes 3 cops away from duty. They can’t arrest everyone.

He deserved what he got. He wanted arrest to distract cops and he got put down.

There’s more to this dude than we know

I watched the video and it appeared to me that the cop’s push wasn’t intended to actually knock the man down. Unfortunately older people are more susceptible to losing their balance if pushed without warning. I know this because I am one!

The filthy little monster dyke mayor of Chicago is demanding the firing of a cop who gave the bird to the rioters. She (?) who the day before said “F... Y..” to Trump on TV.

Typically nasty queer POS. I despise them all.

Amen. When they charged all those cops in the Freddie Gray case in Baltimore the cops just started mailing it in. Not patrolling, not arresting. I can’t blame them. They are just killing time until they can get their pension. In the meantime, city residents aren’t killing time, they are killing each other.

Leave those cities and either move to a small town or to a red state. Let them find out what it’s like without cops
