MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Fired Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin has been arrested days after George Floyd’s fatal arrest that sparked protests and outcry across the city and nation.
On Friday, John Harrington, commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Public Safety, announced that Chauvin has been taken into custody in connection with the May 25 death.
Chauvin is the former officer in the video seen around the world with his knee on Floyd’s neck. He’d been with Minneapolis police for 19 years.
It was not immediately clear what the expected charges Chauvin could face are.

The cop worked as off duty cop at the club for 17 years. Both worked there in 2019. Floyd was the bouncer.

17 years. Santamaria says she can’t say for sure if George and Derek knew each other but c’mon. These men collected a check from the same place for 17 years and had NO knowledge of one another. That’s difficult to believe. BOSSIP spoke to a security professional here in Atlanta who told us that he holds a meeting between all bouncers and off-duty cops before every shift. Of course, security protocols can vary from venue to venue but 17 years and they NEVER met one another? We have questions. Lots of them.

I kinda agree with this.... something so bad was going on that this cop sacrificed his life to kill this guy.... and his attitude proves this...he knew he was being recorded....it doesn’t make sense, and if it doesn’t make sense it’s not true...
All the protesters have claimed on social media that they will be peaceful in the writing and looting will stop once they have an arrest. I highly doubt that, they knew there was going to be interest in the keys very soon and that did not stop them from burning everything down they could find. At this point it is just an excuse to burn things and loot.

“Conspiracy theory” has become just another one of those pejorative labels like racist, sexist, bigot, homophobe, climate change denier, xenophobe, etc. It’s a crutch people use when they prefer not to go to the effort of thinking for themselves and logically examining the evidence.

As long as Best Buy has good electronics they will keep looting, its NOT about George Floyd, I doubt the majority of those morons even know who he is, they want free stuff, its always been about getting free stuff
