He was/is the cork in the dam; more will follow.
and f**k all the money he brings ? D’oh
Probably a pretty wise move. I don’t get the vibe that Cali will be known at any point in the future as a favorable environment for business.
There is a reason why there are no car manufacturers in California anymore or much of any manufacturing activity for that matter.Musk is learning that it is shortsighted to sell your soul to the blue devil for tax abatements and factory space as there will come a time when he will show up with a shovel to bury you or even worse, unionize you.Musk should count himself lucky that this time around, the blue menace just wants to disable him a bit.
“Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez, San Diego Democrat, promptly tweeted F*ck Elon Musk, which clarified a key issue in the Golden State.”
Isn’t it insightful that a liberal state officer can be so linguistically challenged at a time when they need diplomacy rather than an attack? The state is fighting for it’s very economic life and they are not only sealing the deal on a major company leaving, but throwing foul language at their back so bravely as they leave. The minute you cross the California border you lose the ability to form intelligent words and keep a civil tongue. Shortly after IQ points evaporate.
Before this her biggest claim to fame was her support of bills that protected illegal workers in California. She’s come a long way from dishonesty against the US to learning how to cut off her nose despite her face. I’m just not sure if it’s bad or worse.

He gives $$$ mostly to the marx-o-crats. This was just a shakedown ploy.
The reply pretty much sums up how Democrats view private business owners. If you think otherwise, just look at the response to the fake pandemic. Oregon is a prime example.
-—Tesla will now move its HQ and future programs ——
The headline is a lie.
Tesla is not moving the manufacturing out of California. Tesla is moving HQ and future programs.
The Left is hate.
He was/is the cork in the dam; more will follow.”””
I certainly endorse that. California has NOT been business friendly for a very long time.
WHEN Tesla moves out of California-—
WHEN MUSK offers those 10,000 employees jobs at the new facility-—
WHEN many of those employees refuse to move-—
WILL THOSE EMPLOYEES BE ELIGIBLE FOR UNEMPLOYMENT???
Not clear on this..
AND—Tesla will no longer be an employer IN CALIFORNIA to charge with the highest rate of unemployment taxes.
I was a bookkeeper/accounting person in California for over 40 years.
That state has been nasty to business there for a very long time.
Musk is staying. He is reopening his factories.”””
TEMPORARY AT BEST....HE WILL MOVE OUT OF CALIFORNIA.
I will bet you an ice cream bar that he is already working on a site/plans/planning commission approval for a new plant in Storey County, Nevada, near the battery plant.
I am betting that Musk WILL move his operations totally out of California.
I am betting that he already has the plans drawn.
Don’t EVER count Elon Musk out.
Don't rule out Musk buying/leasing more of the desert East of Reno to build a car assembly plant near, or even next to, his battery Gigafactory. The fleet of electric semis can be re-purposed from hauling batteries to Fremont to hauling subcontractor parts from northern California to his growing campus.
I would suspect that he would put his toe in the water, and depending on how things go, more would come eastward across I-80.
I do not deny that Tesla could move manufacturing from California in the future.
My post said truthfully that the head line was a lie.
My view is that the Musk action is in effect a shot across the California bow. The governor and legislature have been put on notice that leaving is a reality for all companies unjustly plundered
The collectivists can sneer only so long at business owners leaving the state. Utopia can look pretty grim with a negative cash flow.
It takes a lot of money to keep socialism floating.
