That's fine, we will take their vote and all, but if they really are old school democrats I have to SERIOUSLY question their judgment; just wondering what perceived insult President Trump or someone else says that will flip them back?

The problem old school democrats have is they are slow to realize they don't have a party anymore.

The democrat party has been taken over by socialists, communists, and American haters.

As a famous old school democrat Ronald Reagan said;
"I didn't leave my party, they left me." - Tom

I rather hope the President rips up the articles of Impeachment in exactly the same way.

Or, auction it off like Rush did with the "Dingy" letter, sending the money to a charity that libs hate.

Nothing to understand.

According to some Rat Senators, all the great Economic News is because of Obama’s Policies finally kicking in.

POTUS Trump is just a placeholder who is continuing to use those same successful Policies.

Makes perfect sense, right?

I think I might have voted for two democrats in my life.

Those days are over, since a vote for a democrat is a vote for Pelosi and Schumer.

Hell will freeze over and I’ll be long dead before I cast a vote for a dem.

I wonder what percentage of the country is NEVER Republican under any circumstances.

I bet it’s only about 30 to 35 percent.

And wait, and wait, and wait, etc. ad nauseum.

Last dem I voted for was Zell Miller.

Twice for Governor of Georgia and then for US Senator to fill the seat of Paul Coverdell after he died.

Here’s why that’s happening.

1. GOP running bad candidates to replace retiring officials.
2. GOP not supporting *good* candidates because they’re not part of the ‘old boys’ club’ or ‘aren’t civil’ or ‘too combative’ or ‘making too many waves.’ See Cuccinelli in Virginia; they wanted milquetoasts instead. Thanks to the VA GOP running off what they viewed as ‘undesirable’ candidates, the GOP there lost the state.
3. GOP incumbent stupid/corrupt/ineffective and is therefore disliked in local area, yet the GOP doesn’t replace him in the primaries with another candidate, instead blindly supporting an incumbent who everyone hates and will lose. And they know they will lose.
4. GOP taking voters for granted. See Ted Cruz - he almost lost because he initially didn’t campaign, then ran a crap low energy campaign doing things like charging for yard signs. Only reason he won was because Trump came and bailed him out. THERE ARE NO SAFE VOTES ANY MORE, and the GOP still doesn’t realize that in many places. Take your voters for granted and they don’t show up. Or they vote for the candidate that doesn’t, even if they have a D after their name, just to teach the idiot a lesson.
5. Being out of touch, leading to bad messaging and imagery. Unfortunately a lot of local and state GOP organizations (and no few units at the national level) are run by old (whether physically or mentally) idiots who think that everything is the same as it was in the 60s-80s and they just need to run a few ads in the newspaper and it’ll be fine. No knowledge of new media, no interest in recent pop culture, don’t want to have either - and they end up producing incredibly tone-deaf marketing/campaign materials that not only don’t work but are soundly mocked. Campaigning has seriously changed since 1980 but a lot of people in the GOP organization *still* don’t realize it.

Again though- even our worst candidates are leagues better than democrats ever were- and the proof is decades of democrats running cities into the ground- We’re talking about red states- I can’t understand how a republican or independent for that matter, could think that a democrat would make sense as gov or senator or whatever-

Lesser of 2 evils- if that is the only choice- in order to preserve everything we’ve fought for-

'they even sat when President Trump thanked the “Hand of Almighty God” for blessing this great nation.'

What else would anyone expect from the "PARTY" OF HATE AND EVIL?

So, if the Republican incumbent is playing the “where ya gonna go” game and pissing all over their voters, the voters should simply say that the rain is wonderful and keep voting for them?

That’s not going to happen, especially these days.

The “No, f**k you!” protest vote is very, very much a thing in the modern day. Again, THERE ARE NO SAFE VOTES.

As for lesser of two evils... look at the history of this very forum. We had people, LOTS of people, saying that they would rather vote for Hillary once Ted Cruz was eliminated from the primaries, because Trump didn’t meet whatever standard they had. Had even more people saying they’d stay home... you can see that even in the midterm posts here.

Or, look at another matter, even on this forum. There are good political conservatives that would run for office as Republicans, but because they are gay or from the Middle East/India/whatever even though they are Christians, and there are many here who state they will stay home/vote D instead of ever voting for a Republican. (I think these people are shortsighted idiots, but that's another story.) You can find them with a Google search, the posts are there. If that's the case with just this subset, what do you think the larger set is going to be like?
