I want to know the names of the 8 GOP Senators that are unwilling to
vote for dismissal. I already know a few of the names. Who are the rest?

I’m not really interested in that. They all hate Trump and are hiding being Majority Leader Collins’ skirt. The GOP as a party is failing to support a GOP POTUS under seditious assault. It’s that simple, really.

Well the VP can only vote in the case of a tie, he does not preside over the Senate during impeachment proceedings. But the Constitution does not say that he must be presiding in order to exercise that privilege. As the Constitution does not specifically prohibit it, I would argue the VP can in fact vote. But I’m sure Roberts would disagree with me.

In summary: it’s unclear.

LMAO! The final score will be 53-47. Just maybe a D or R will want to be a rebel depending on what awaits their next election.

“Apparently they don’t realize if they remove Trump, they’ll reap the whirlwind.

Burr and Alexander have already announced they are retiring. Neither fears the voters.

The VP is not on trial.

In the early years of our republic, the VP and President were elected separately, they could even be from different political parties.

My question was more of a concern as to whether his role in presiding being taken over by the Chief Justice had any effect on him breaking ties. I do not believe it does, but not clear.

Mike Lee wants his “replace Americans with Indians” bill to get passed and signed. SOB is using this to get that. He must have a lot of money at stake (big tech bribes)

McConnell will check very carefully with interests from Az, Me, Co, and NC before he gets behind a motion to dismiss.

The vote on McConnell’s plan was along party lines 53 to 47, so there is no way the democrats get to 67 for removal.

I read that for this impeachment thing, the tie would be broken by Judge Roberts.

I heard Ted Cruz talking several days ago that he thought it would be better to have the trial and find Trump innocent of the charges than to just dismiss it out right, as that still leaves the idea of “impeachment” out there for the democrats to harp on.

There should EASILY be 53 + + a few sane Dems (I know, not a thing) who want to shut this miserable Schattshow down, NOW.

Manchin has been voting with the other dems so far. Hope Sessions can trounce Doug Jones in Alabama this year.

After Schitt’s grueling and torturous speaking yesterday, I figure almost everyone there is ready to dismiss just to be done with it. (I tuned in for a couple minutes once in a while, and it took me back to the most boring sermons I sat through and truly wanted to scream.) Either that, or they’ll be asking for clean razor blades for wrist slitting. He just needs to keep it up and wait for the men in white coats to escort him off the stage.

That man is absolutely inSANE.

The final vote for Clinton was 50-50. No tie break needed for the verdict because 67 votes needed to convict.

The narratives leading up to the impeachment circus has said the VP can break ties. I don’t know if that is limited to procedural issues but I assume he has the power as president of the senate still. The chief justice is presiding legally over the process, not as a member of the senate.
