Gov. Gavin Newsom is on a weeklong statewide tour promoting his billion-dollar effort to tackle the homeless crisis in California.

The governor signed an emergency order last week and plans on distributing one hundred FEMA trailers throughout the state.

Touting his effort, the governor’s office highlighted a fleet of trailers that were on their way to a vacant lot in Oakland on Wednesday. The trailers will provide services and shelter to homeless people.

This will allow more people to become homeless.

The thinking here (I’m assuming) is, it’s better to have them corralled altogether in one big area with porta-potties, than sleeping & pooing on sidewalks in front of businesses all over town.

How do you force them to go?

“In this case, with the druggie crowd, the unit will be uninhabitable in about two years, and considered a toxic unit, which requires some state or local group to take it to a special place to be melted or burned.”

In the late 70’s - early 80’s I managed a trailer park. For the most part the tenants were were good honest hard working people that bothered no one.

The ones I recall most were druggies. They literally took their mobile home apart on the inside. Not to remodel, they just took the walls apart. These were two separate groups a few years apart. They were nasty, cleaned nothing. Both mobile homes were abandoned and had to be hauled off as junk.

My point is, your comments are so correct. We are not talking about homeless people FEMA typically cares for after a hurricane. We are talking scum of the earth types that have that life style for a reason whether it be self inflicted, a result of the culture they live in, or for a reason they cannot cope with.

The FEMA camp area will have enticements in the form of services-— toilets, food handouts, mental health and job counseling, and probably free needles for addicts.
Nevertheless the Governor will be accused of “imprisoning” the homeless in “concentration camps” and “violating their civil rights,” too. You can bet on it.

It’s highly unlikely anyone will be arrested for refusing to go there. They’ve already decided vagrancy laws are unconstitutional.

If you house them, feed them, give them needles, let them poop and pee where they want and otherwise coddle them... they will come.

My grandma called these people “bums” and understood that, far from victims, they were an aggressive plague on society and should be dealt with as such.

What post was removed? A (not allowed source) pic?

I’m sure this “fix” by brainless Newsome will do the trick. We all know that FreeStuff and trailers solve the underlying problem. Not.

It’s a pathetic effort to try and keep POTUS from fixing the real problem.

I suppose the “vacant lot” is already prepped with water, sewer and electric; has suitable streets and sidewalks up to code?

Well let’s put out the word!

Free room and board facilities for the drug addicted homeless!

I think every county in the country has a cheap alternative to jailing their homeless, drug addicted and criminals: a bus ticket to CA! (Hell, a first class airline ticket would be cheaper than the housing of a criminal for a week)

SEND THEM ALL TO CALIFORNIA! (Tell them they will love the weather, but if they return they go to jail)

“The reason for homelessness is, with some exceptions, not because of a lack of homes.
It is due to addiction and insanity.”

100% correct.
My wife has worked in the mental healthcare field for some 30 plus years. She comes home often telling me how these people simply DO NOT give a rip about anything other than the next fix. They dont get it? They go off the rails. She has actually had to go to the Salvation Army to get shoes for some of them. Walking around on the streets of the desert southwest in the summer without shoes. Can you imagine?

BTW, most mental healthcare institutions? They are a scam for sucking up public money and social security. They could give a rats ass about the welfare of these mentally challenged and druggies. That is why my wife had to go to the Salvation Army for shoes.

Out of 100 of these people, about 10 actually want help.

The people in question are not homeless. They have chosen to live in tents

The people living in tents are squatters on public lands

Well, that is good of Oakland and California to give campers to the homeless.

They are so generous to take other people’s money, and give their camper over to someone else less deserving.

The world has a billion more foreigners who need campers too. So you Californians had better get 2nd & 3rd jobs to support the coerced generosity.

Imagine the voter fraud now of Democrats simply registering homeless among State subsidized, run down, trailer parks.

Key point is the vacant, city owned lot. The city pays ZERO taxes on the lot.

Give each homeless, and citizen a land plot, tax free,
and everybody now has a place to be.

Yep. Drug addiction turns people into zombies.

An addicted husband will abandon his family, a mother will sell her children, a son will steal from his parents.

That said, addicts can be rescued, but it ain't easy.

I have seen the Gospel work to give some people a tiny spark of hope that they need to fight back...and, even then, it is hit or miss.

I can also say that without some tiny spark of hope, the addict cannot come up with a reason to want to be rescued. Drugs can kill all hope...even the flickering memory of hope.
