I don’t know about the Pope, but when you get elderly, things that others wouldn’t mind quite so much, really hurt.
I fell the other day. It was dark and I forgot I had moved some things in my bedroom. I tripped and was headed to the floor, when I hit a small suitcase standing on end.
Half my chest impacted on that suitcase. During the first moments after the fall, I thought there was a possibility of a serious injury.
Luckily, there wasn’t one. What it did do is tweak my ribs on my entire right side. If someone yanked me right now, like they did the Pope, it would really hurt, and might dislodge some ribs right now already loosened a bit.
You don’t put your hands on any official like that.
I’m 68 now. Pope Francis is 83. You should never yank and older person around like that.
I’m not bothered by his justifiable righteous indignation at all. Slapping at her hands like that would be the least of her problems if she had done that to me right now.

I am not a Catholic and don't understand all of their doctrine, but I believe that the notion of 'infallibility' has distinct parameters. There are plenty of Catholics on FR who profoundly disagree with this pope and many of his pronouncements; and they don't deserve insult. From Wiki:
"In July 2005 Pope Benedict XVI stated during an impromptu address to priests in Aosta that: "The Pope is not an oracle; he is infallible in very rare situations, as we know." Pope John XXIII once remarked: "I am only infallible if I speak infallibly but I shall never do that, so I am not infallible."
"A doctrine proposed by a pope as his own opinion, not solemnly proclaimed as a doctrine of the Church, may be rejected as false, even if it is on a matter of faith and morals, and even more any view he expresses on other matters."

I dont blame him. I don't either; I think she physically hurt him and he wanted it to stop. Understandable behavior, even from the worst Pope in memory.

Not trying to be harsh to you. I mean my words directed at her.
Thanks for the response.

I agree, but sadly honest disagreement turns to cries of heresy, and to me a sign of brain washing.. I have many Catholic friends and have respect for their choices although I disagree,,

He was startled, IMHO, so I will wait for a time to see how il Papa responds, after he has reflected awhile on his actions.
Perhaps he has been granted a chance to re-examine his instincts- I don’t believe he has always carefully considered the effect of his positions etc.

I didn’t like the article having cookies either.
Found video on YouTube “woman grabs pope” brought up the video.
He’s a mean old socialist globalist bleep.

Many Chinese tourists are unbelievably rude, as was this lady, and does she think he speaks Mandarin.
Nevertheless, Bergoglio’s response was also rude.

Well, we can disagree intellectually without making a point of laughing at the beliefs of others.
Everyone has his own spiritual ‘row to hoe’, and has to do it in his own way.
