That was my point.
Adulthood is not fully developed and most cultures around the world since antiquity have recognized that adulthood is not the pinnacle of human development. Further maturation continues befor decline sets in.
In the mid twentieth century the west fully embraced stupidity.
Serious stupidity.
Humans become adults if they shoulder appropriate responsibility in their mid to late teens. Brain development continues at least until twentyfive, but many, many cultures across the millennia consider thirty three or so completely matured.
Idiot western academia seems to have asserted that one isn’t even an adult until one is an elder, creating the eternal childhood culture we see now.
