Full title: Cleveland Browns' Myles Garrett suspended indefinitely after brawl with Steelers, teams fined $250G each

Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett was suspended indefinitely for his role in a brawl that took place at the end of Thursday night’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the league announced.

Garrett will be suspended “at a minimum for the remainder of the regular season and postseason and must meet with the commissioner’s office prior to a decision on his reinstatement, the league said in a statement Friday. He was also fined an undisclosed amount.

Garrett’s teammate Larry Ogunjobi and Pittsburgh Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey were also suspended and fined.

Ogunbjobi has been suspended without pay for one game and fined an undisclosed amount for shoving Rudolph during the melee.

Pouncy received a three-game suspension and fined an undisclosed amount for “fighting, including punching and kicking an opponent.”

The NFL said more suspensions will be handed down.

The NFL said more suspensions will be handed down.

Suspending Rudolph would actually be a real crowd-pleaser here after that game.

Honestly, I believe it was Not Troy.

Troy was a man about it, cool, and just as contained about the brawl as Mayfield was, not hysterical, in complete agreement with Baker’s field interview remarks, commending him by saying that Baker did the right thing.

The putz, Buck, needed a skirt and hankie over it. Buck’s First reaction after the brawl was to wring his hands about what I GET TO SEE AS A VIEWER. Sheesh. What a bed wetter!

Lots of vacant seats in most games it seems to me from what
little media shows of the stands. Ticket prices and a lot more
local media coverage I believe has reduced attendance.

3 games for Pouncey is excessive. He rightfully went apeshit after what was done to his QB.

Oh, and the “Browns” play in The Burg in 17 days. Must See TV

I guarantee NOTHING will happen because the game will be so tightly officiated that they'll be throwing flags for players clearing their throats.

He should be in jail for felony assault.

Seems maybe Rudolph may have started it by trying to rip off Garrett’s helmet first, at least that’s what is reported; however ...

Yep. Rudolph is an a$$hole who started it. But Garrett is a dangerous sociopath.

Nope. Clearly a felony, assault with a deadly weapon (and the helmet is just that, since it can’t protect against CTE and dooms so many players to a painful death), committed in plain sight for any law enforcement officer to witness. He could even be subject to a private person arrest by anyone on the field or in the stands.

So - you didn't see the guy try to rip his helmet off first and then kick him in the nads - BEFORE all of that....huh?

So - you didn't see Garrett tackle Rudolph after the pass had been thrown, then literally drag Rudolph to the ground, then roll Rudolph over onto his back, then dive back in for some ground and pound?

This video shows the whole thing.

Myles Garrett says Mason Rudolph brawl was "Foolish" and "Out of Character"

No question about it. Garrett was the instigator and Rudolph was defending himself.

He started the whole fracas by a late hit and throwing the QB down and wrapping him up to hold him until the clock with eight seconds on it ran out. Rudolph was trying to get Garrets 'hug' stopped so he coulod get the next play going. Garret, who is probably all roided up (that's full of anabolic steroids?) let Rudolph go but grabbed his face mask and yanked the man's head hard enough to rip the helmet off. Ther, when Steeler's linemen came to their QB's defense, Garret swung the helmet hitting Rudolph on top of his head, hard. This enraged the linmen who proceeded to toss Garret to the ground and they attacked him! A Browns lineman ran up and shoved Rudolph to the ground then the refs stepped in.

I have seen some hefty hockey fights, but this fight was between giagantic men in a rage. The NFL is almost unwatchable anymore, what with huge salaries and defiant roided up animals. This uncontrolled idiocy didn't start with Kapernick but he amplified the out of self control behavior and the NFL did not act promptly to stop it. So that's the name of the game now, out of control over paid animals exhibiting jungle mentalities.

Frankly, I thought Football was BACK!

The Men were taking care of their own business, on.both.sides. The hand wringers were all finally side lined for a few brief moments.

These guys are not going to seriously hurt one another and they know Very well that a SAFE SPACE is coming, with flags flying, and being separated by team mates.

Gawd.

YES, Rudolph attempted to pull off Garrett’s helmet.

It was a dirty sack. Garrett mauled Rudolph to the ground long after he had gotten rid of the ball.......Had the fight not started, one could argue that he should have gotten a penalty for roughing the passer.......

Yes, Garrett Snapped and went too far, but I’m interested in what set him off so severely after a handy Win, and that NO ONE seems to know or care.

But, yes, the Rules will take care of him. And Rudolph, as well.

Going back again on the views and story it seems Rudolph had his fingers in Garrett’s face mask and Garrett thought that he was going to rip it off or something.

I saw a late hit-yes-but you don’t get to rip a guy’s helmet off and kick him in the balls. That’s going to a new level and of you don’t understand that I can’t help you.
