I despise mealy mouth mitch. If he didn’t want to remove Trump he could have said yes “we will a trial but we have seen nothing that comes close to an impeachable offense”. That would shut the circus down because the last thing the rats want is Trump Acquitted. But he didn’t do that did he?

The GOP sets the rules for the trial. Many think Roberts controls the proceeding. He does not. He implements the rules the Republican Senate puts forth. At any time the GOP controlled Senate can act as an instant appeal court and overrule his rulings.
Based on what I have seen and heard, the LAST thing Schiff Commy Turd wants is his kangaroo court getting a dose of American Justice. The President will be able to cross, have his own witnesses, and even call Schiff and the Whistleblower and if he chooses anyone else. Schiff will go over to the Senate controlling NOTHING, NADDA, ZIP.
HIs case will crumble as heresay is ruled such and rendered non-admissible. How? Simple, the GOP Senate can state that the Federal Rules of Evidence are in effect for the trial. Not one damn stupid thing that got away with today will slide. No interrupting cross examination, no nothing.
Even better, I would let Trump present his case and then move for a summary judgement. Let this thing go on long enough for the dems to eat their poop and die.
I want a trial and would welcome it as it would absolutely be the worst case for the democrats.
Might the NeverTrump GOP stab the President? Yes, it is a risk but I think given the support in the GOP for the President, I think it is suicide. I also think once the President presents his case, even the weakest will crumble.
And don’t be so sure the republicans don’t have many more than expected GUILTY votes.

I knew Bill Frist back in the day, when he was respectable. He married a friend of mine. They were married for a couple of decades, until he hooked up with a young woman from the horsey set in Virginia. Don’t ever pretend that SOME Republicans aren’t as big of a pig as MOST Dems. McConnell is making it so easy for millions of Trump voters, including my family, to happily “dismiss” the GOP from our ballots post Trump. The arrogance of the GOP Senate is breathtaking given how they fellated the kenyan for 8 years: Obama-Corker Iran deal, support for communist Brennan, etc., etc.
If Schiff doesn't produce the whistle blower, Erick Ciarmella will Nunes, Jordan etc. declare the impeachment mess null & void? Where was Senator Graham....
You know, The Turtle pushed through most of the POTUS’ judges. That counts for s lot. And impeaching the Prez does him no political good... He will never be President so what’s the point? Best guess is he will hold a trail and use that as acudgel to crucify the Dems. I think both are playing the long game here.
At this point the dems in a Senate trial would look like bob muller wearing a Speedo.
So far, there have been no reliable reports on just what is to be contained in these “articles of impeachment” that are being drummed up daily.
