The widow of late Rep. Elijah Cummings, D-Md., said on Monday that she will launch a campaign to win her husband’s seat as representative of Maryland’s 7th Congressional District.

Maryland Democratic Party Chairwoman Maya Rockeymoore Cummings, 48, initially told The Baltimore Sun that she would formally announce her campaign on Tuesday, nearly a month after her husband died of cancer on Oct. 17 at age 68.

Rep. Elijiah Cummings served nearly two decades in Congress and played an integral role in the early stages of the impeachment inquiry into President Trump as the chairman of the House Oversight and Reform Committee.

I saw a photo of the Cummings estate compared to where most of his constituents live. Why do they put up with this - they ought to be angry at the rats.

I guess Elijah’s sudden death must have left her in a bind, he keeled over before he could finish funneling enough public money into her coffers to set her up for life. She’s only 48, she’s got needs you know.

Funneling money to ones wife and children seems to be a popular pastime of democratic politicians, it’s quite the golden scam now that we’ve set the precedent that questioning it will get you impeached.

I though ‘ol Kweisi Mfume was going to run for that seat too. A couple of real winners in that race for sure.
