I really liked Fred and spoke with hom last, a few months ago, after diabetics cost him another body part yet, he was upbeat.
Freerepublic.com and his many friends here really gave him purpose.
He enjoyed being of service and really liked the thoughtful commentary.
He even appreciated some of our low brow banter.
Thx for remembering Fred...
Look up above a few posts and there are some that show his mug.

I've had multiple pleasant interactions with him over the years, he will be missed! It's comforting to consider that all the volumes of words he's shared will live on forever in the Freerepublic archive. Centuries from now I can see historians delving into the logs of this forum to find out what was truly occurring in our time - since mainstream sources are hopelessly biased.

Rest in Peace. As an Army retiree and plus six year Korea veteran, I always enjoyed his posts and the articles which I was always interested in - we shared a bond although we never met.

11/20 I learned that 2ndDivisionVet passed away. Very sad.

Personal story. I sent a private message to 2ndDivisionVet about four years ago about a work problem. He replied regularly over the next two weeks with a total of ten messages which were encouraging and very, very helpful.
