Be back shortly...
Bible in a Year:
So I ate it, and it tasted as sweet as honey in my mouth. Ezekiel 3:3
Id had the spot on my nose for the better part of a year when I went to the doctor. The biopsy results came back days later with words I didnt want to hear: skin cancer. Though the cancer was operable and not life-threatening, it was a bitter pill to swallow.
God commanded Ezekiel to swallow a bitter pilla scroll containing words of lament and woe (Ezekiel 2:10; 3:12). He was to fill [his] stomach with it and share the words with the people of Israel, whom God considered obstinate and stubborn (2:4). One would expect a scroll filled with correction to taste like a bitter pill. Yet Ezekiel describes it being as sweet as honey in his mouth (3:3).
Ezekiel seems to have acquired a taste for Gods correction. Instead of viewing His rebuke as something to avoid, Ezekiel recognized that what is good for the soul is sweet. God instructs and corrects us with lovingkindness, helping us live in a way that honors and pleases Him.
Some truths are bitter pills to swallow while others taste sweet. If we remember how much God loves us, His truth will taste more like honey. His words are given to us for our good, providing wisdom and strength to forgive others, refrain from gossip, and bear up under mistreatment. Help us, God, to recognize Your wisdom as the sweet counsel it truly is!
What truth has God shown you recently? Did you receive it as a bitter pill or sweet honey?
God, Your truth is sweet.
Hai Kathy! (((HUGS))) Still in Denver and flying short routes just to earn some hours; Billings, Missoula, Bismark, over to LV all returns to Denver. I’ll then be off until the first of the year! Whoo!
Hi Everybody!
(((HUGS)))
I grew up in Colorado and I expect that Denver is not your first choice of where to work. Enjoy your time off.
Greetings to all at the Canteen!
To all our military men and women, past and present,
THANK YOU
for your service!
Suppose to be a nice day tomorrow then the bottom falls out. Saw a Bald Eagle two days ago and some turkeys today, one of the benefits of living off the beaten path.
“Enjoy the weather, it is the only weather your have” Joe Bastardy.
Denver is one of Frontier’s hubs, Orlando is another. Hopefully one day Seattle will be and I can get stationed there so for now, it’s Denver.
For all those upon the seas, in the deserts, airborne and places unknown.
Howdy, PRO.
Kicked back and chillin’ so you’ll have energy for tomorrow?
We appreciate y’all letting go of the cooler temps so they could finally move south. :-) We were quite tired of 90 degree days.
I am definitely chillin' and relaxin' tonight, the early AM will be here shortly, off to the bed sheets soon.
Glad to hear your weather has finally turned into Fall.
ALWAYS remember them! They are our heroes!
You do get up WAY TOO early. You get up around the time I head for the bat cave for some zzzzzzzzs. LOL
We definitely enjoy the cooler temps after a long, long wait. Now we hope for fall to stick around a bit before going into winter.
