Former Vice President Joe Biden appeared to stumble over his words while discussing the economy and taxes on Tuesday night.

"Why should someone who's clipping coupons in the stock market may, in fact, pay a lower tax rate than someone who in fact is, like I said, a schoolteacher and a fireman? It's ridiculous," Biden said.

Biden made those comments while appearing at the fourth Democratic debate. Biden has long been the frontrunner for the Democratic nomination but is facing a potential challenge Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., who has been gaining traction in key states.

The term, when current, was also a pejorative for the idle rich upper class who derived their income from investments that were usually made with inherited money. As you reported, their “effort” at “working” consisted exclusively of clipping payment coupons off of the certificate and sending them in for payment.

Actually happened to be watching when this happened. I had no idea at the time, and still, have zero idea on what he was trying to say. I just don’t think the guy is all there. Not his fault, it’s just age I guess. It still seems that the MSM wants him and thinks he is the only one who can beat DJT in 2020. They were certainly blasting Poco’s performance on the post-debate coverage I caught. I follow a few progressive figures on Twitter (hilarious watching them scream about Bernie “being treated unfairly again”) and they are just enraged this guy is being propped up by the establishment.
