Michael's been very critical of Trump's Syrian pull-back. To me, it seemed uncharacteristic of Savage, who has not been supportive of our endless wars.

Trump promised to get us out of Syria when he ran for president.

Also, why does the US have an obligation to fight for creation of a Kurd nation-state ? When were the American people consulted about that goal? When did Congress vote to OK it?

Maybe Savage has talked about the importance of the Kurds in the past, but I must not have been listening at those times. Now though, it suddenly seems like a top priority for him.

Fine, lets have Congress debate whether the US should go to war for the Kurds. If we go to war for a Kurdish homeland without a debate and a vote by the people's representatives, we live in a monarchy, not a democracy or even a Republic.

Yes but he did it in a way that released 700 ISIS warriors on the world.

I support a Kurdish nation-state. I suspect Trump supports it. What he isn’t willing to do is go to war with Turkey to include Syrian territory in this Kurdish nation-state.

There already is an independent Kurdistan, though none of the men in suits are willing to say it out loud. We are no doubt helping them there. Trump isn’t prepared to go to war to expand that territory.

They can work it out with Assad to have a Kurdish province in Syria. This seems to be the way they are going to go.

I’m also surprised that Savage wants us to stay at the center of this war that could last forevermore.
Sometimes, I think Mike Savage takes the opposite view that is expected, just to keep his supporters on edge.

Mike may see how harsh and caustic people like Ann Coulter has become toward the president. “I want him to fear me TOO!”
I definitely can see Mike saying about Trump, due to Mike’s ego and his nearing of retirement.
As a side note, I hardly ever read a full Ann Coulter column anymore. She seems to specialize in bad news and insults.

“Yes but he did it in a way that released 700 ISIS warriors on the world.”

I don’t know what to believe. The media is lying about a lot of the effects, I believe. ABC was caught showing “bombing” that wasn’t even from Syria - it was from Kentucky.

Just like a lot of the media participated in the lies (or “misunderstandings”) that got us into war against Iraq and Libya, a lot of the media want us to keep fighting in Syria, and ultimately to take out Assad.

Just look at how orgasmic the media was for John McCain. Like him, for some reason, they want never-ending war in the Middle East, and they’ll lie and distort to promote that goal.

Yes, would like to know if the 700 number is true, and you are correct to ask who to believe.

Support for a Kurdish State is one thing but reality is another. The Kurds are to fractured a people to be able to form a nation. This has been their problem for the last 800 years and why there in no Kurdistan.

Way too much snark from Coulter. Nobody ever effectively advanced a cause through snark. In small doses it’s amusing, but as her sole form of argumentation, it just marginalizes her as a clever clown.

My view is that there already is an independent Kurdistan. They are completely self-governing, and it is safe. They are not recognized officially by anyone because no one wants to tick off the Turks... something like not recognizing Taiwan because no one wants to tick off Beijing.

But we are not obligated to help them expand their territory into Syria. If they can do it, and hold it, good for them. But its not our job to shed blood for it. Just my view.

I gave up on Savage. At some point I could see he was out for himself. O’riley was the same way and lost his prime time gig. Who’s next?

Our objective there is finished. The Kurds have been at odds with their neighbors since before Columbus found the other half of the planet. And everyone knows, even the Kurds, that military alliances are amongst the most fleeting of all. Mike is not only wrong, but inconsistent with his opinions over the years that the ME is a rat-hole where we never should have gotten involved in to begin with.

Every time i witness some fluffy male with a man bun whose girlfriend pays for home at Starbucks I not only think, “gotta stay out of here”, I think, “no more sending the young men with testosterone on board to go get shot up and blown up in the desert

Eeeenough.

Why those prisoners weren’t executed is befuddeling. You know that they were all complicant or actual participants in murder and torture. To hell with them.
