Joe Biden: Impeachment's First Casualty
Creators ^ | Sep 26 2019 | Patrick Buchanan

Even before seeing the transcript of the July 25 call between President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Nancy Pelosi threw the door wide open to the impeachment of Donald Trump by the Democratic House.

Though the transcript did not remotely justify the advanced billing of a "quid pro quo," Pelosi set in motion a process that is already producing a sea change in the politics of 2020.

The great Beltway battle for the balance of this year, and perhaps next, will be over whether the Democrats can effect a coup against a president many of them have never recognized as legitimate and have sought to bring down since before he took the oath of office.

He knew. Or his brain, ValJar did, and told him Biden would become radioactive.

So many metaphors we can think of.

You can’t put the toothpaste back in the tube.

They have pulled the trigger on this.

They have gone past the point of no return.

If you are going to shoot the king, you better be sure you don’t miss.

Etc. etc.

If this impeachment effort fails, the Democratic party, and whoever their presidential nominee is, will be damaged.

The MSNBC crowd will always be true believers, but “middle America”, “moderate voters”, “flyover country” will not be impressed by all these shenanigans, and will be likely to turn away from a political party which is such a circus.

After all the chatter about Russia, alleged violations of the emoluments clause of the constitution, alleged abuses of power, alleged corruption, it stuns me, that the Democrats have staked everything on a phone call.

A president can be impeached because of a phone call?

A call to the president of another country, a call in which no illegal actions were discussed, is grounds for impeachment?

Seems like the Democrats are using the British strategy that their Parliamrnt used against Boris. They are refusing to take a vote in the House because they don’t want “moderate” territory Dems to have to go on the record. So they are trying to drag things out and torture the Republicans. Pelosi even said in an interview that now she has Trump in her wheelhouse.

You may have a point in comparing to the UK ‘current’ situation and how they are framing Boris Johnson, but if you look at polling from last night....majority of plain regular Brits (pro-BREXIT and anti-BREXIT) are going toward Boris and his agenda. There’s a lot of negativity and frustration brewing with the anti-Boris crowd, and the news media has made a big mistake in making this headline news.

I view the same business happening with Trump. He’s going to collect probably $50-million by mid-Oct for the campaign fund.

The first causality though....is Hunter Biden. Huge amount of stress on this guy, and he’s probably doing a ton of cocaine everyday to handle all this pressure.

"What else needs to be said?"

If they're serious, how about calling for a vote? They haven't crossed the Rubicon, or pulled the trigger. They're just sniping. Ankle-biting.

A disappointing opinion piece by Buchannan. Doesn't take full measure on what's going on and lightly dusts over it as if things would ever return to normal a post-Trump removal from office. Instead, he tries to be neat about it with one short comment: "effect a coup against a president many of them have never recognized as legitimate". That's just a platitude of sorts. This has nothing to do with legitimacy, perceived or otherwise.

Prayers that our President and his team round up these horned bulls and bull-ets as Texas Cowboys round up a herd. They can then be branded or shipped on to the slaughterhouse to be processed.

Obama’s administration (Biden) threatened to cut off aid to a country if they didn’t squelch an investigation into the son of a high administration official. SCANDAL!

Buden is the typical delusional loser white democrat, who thinks their short cuts means they win, when they are puppets manipulated until discarded.

They remind me of these rigged boxing match stories, where all of a sudden the boxing fake champion truly thinks he is a good fighter when all the other fighters played dead for him, until they switch the bets and he gets his a$$ whooped.

Obamy tried to tell him not to run. “You don’t have to do this, Joe, you really don’t.”

This impeachment move was trying to kill two birds with one stone. Biden is too loony to be their candidate and this was the only way to end his campaign for good.

Does anyone find it strange that NOBODY in the news media has even tried to locate him let alone interview him?

I mean...Here's this highly successful world wide business Magnate in the middle of the story and nobody even knows where his Corporate headquarters is located.....or even a phone #.....its like he's running this mulit-billion dollar business out of the back seat of a Rental Car............./s

No, the call is a pretense for impeachment; the grounds for impeachment are “He’s not Hillary”.

His ex-wife kinda hinted (going back three or four years) that he was a serious user of cocaine. My guess is that a guy like that would be continually paranoid and hostile. He’s probably locked in some hotel room for five or six days straight, and comes out briefly to eat, buy more cocaine, etc.

I’m not sure you could do a normal interview with the guy without the effects screwing up the interview.
