Trump on whistleblower complaint: Focus should be on Biden instead
The Hill ^ | 09/20/19 | Brett Samuels

President Trump on Friday dismissed growing scrutiny over a whistleblower complaint that reportedly raised concerns about a conversation he had with a Ukrainian leader, saying the focus should instead be on Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden's ties to Ukraine.

"It doesn't matter what I discussed, but I'll tell you this, somebody ought to look into Joe Biden's statement," Trump told reporters in the Oval Office during a meeting with the Australian prime minister.

Trump said he did not know who the whistleblower is, but derided the complaint as "partisan" and "ridiculous" and asserted that Biden is getting a pass because he's a Democrat.

The president added that his conversations with foreign leaders are "always appropriate."

The whistleblower complaint has been the subject of intense interest in recent days after The Washington Post first reported on Wednesday that it involved Trump making a "promise" to a foreign leader. The Post and New York Times later reported that the incident in question involved Ukraine.

Was that anything like Obama promising Putin that he could be more "flexible" after the election?

Soon after Trump took office, one or two of his conversations with foreign leaders were leaked to the press to try to cause trouble for him. Had that ever happened to any previous President?

Why is the deep state allowed access to the President’s conversations with global leaders?

Also, stating that countries need to follow anti-corruption laws and behave in the world’s politics in return for good relations with the US is a good thing, and is the opposite of an indication of corruption on a President. Unless of course, the President requested an illegal action, like spying on a political opponent or enriching themselves personally like Obama did.

The deep state has thrown out some red meat to the MSM for a feeding frenzy and they are making the most out of it.

Again, incrementalism: The democrats keep throwing out supposed scandals counting on the fact that a certain number of voters will miss the retractions and pull backs and vote accordingly, enough to accumulate and sway an election.

These made up frenzied storms of scandal and collusion will occur every two or three days until the election.

(HAT TIP MARRON)

It would be well to remember that, in the end, Biden was a mere VP with no power
(just as Hillary was a mere SecState) who could do nothing without the prior authority of the sitting president.

So if the Chinese, Ukrainians, or Russians, are bribing someone with no power, they did so with the knowledge that some
of the bribe leaks back into the responsible person’s pockets. Or, more likely, another pot of money goes to the responsible party.

(Uranium One isn’t really Hillary’s deal, its Obama’s deal. Burisma isn’t really the Bidens' deal, its Obama’s deal.)

And China’s billions aren’t really buying Biden’s good graces (Kerry’s son was also involved...) its Obama’s good graces they were after.

Yes, I was thinking of the one to Australia but was trying to remember if there was another case.

I think that alerted President Trump to the fact that there were people in the White House trying to undermine him. The latest "whistleblower" leak shows that they are still there.

and since imaginably obama would not do something for nothing (risk too high), i wonder if it would follow that biden, hillary and kerry did some things for obama in return.

This man, our President Trump, has my complete admiration.
No one, NO ONE, stays on OFFENSE LIKE HE DOES.

What an honor to have him as our President!

Let me see if I have this story clear:

Biden says he will withhold aid to block an investigation of his son. Press and Democrats think that is not important and ignore.

Trump says he will withhold aid unless the investigation of Biden's son is reopened. Press and Democrats lose mind and claim it's an impeachable offense.

Is it just me, or does anyone else think that this is also going to blow up in their face and Biden will be the ultimate casualty?

President Trump on Friday ripped into the press for its coverage of a whistleblower complaint that reportedly raised concerns about a conversation he had with a Ukrainian leader, calling it "another media disaster."

The president took questions from reporters for roughly 30 minutes in the Oval Office during a meeting with the Australian prime minister, where he defended his conduct around foreign leaders and blamed the media for overblowing the controversy.

"It’s another media disaster," he said. "The media has lost so much credibility in this country. Our media has become the laughingstock of the world."

"Keep asking questions and build it up as big as possible so you can have a bigger downfall," added Trump, who admitted he had not personally read the complaint.

This has already been ruled on....and there was nothing to it. The whistle blower was likely just another anti-Trump employee of the left.

Yes, I thought that just last night when reading an item from Fox News, saying that overall, people are dissatisfied with the way the federal government is running and DJT’s approval rating is at 45.... they are playing the long game and truth literally does not matter in the slightest as long as they can sway enough people.

Evil is very patient.

We’re all waiting for Trump’s next “Look! A squirrel!” tweet that will cause all the media dogs to scamper off in the indicated direction. Gawd, I LOVE that man.

If anyone saw the Trump Dynasty on A&E (?), I think it is completely possible that Trump is fully behind this so called whistleblower. Trump is a coldblooded genius in setting the table for his desired outcome.

The only way the media was going to cover the Ukraine situation was if they thought Trump was the villain. Trump will then turn the table and look what we have - Biden exposed as a thug extortionist. KABOOM!!!
