Walmart is discontinuing sales of short-barrel rifle ammunition such as the .223 caliber and 5.56 caliber, discontinuing sales of handgun ammunition and discontinuing handgun sales entirely in Alaska. Its also asking shoppers to no longer openly carry firearms in stores, in states where open carry is allowed, unless authorized law enforcement officers are present. CEO Doug McMillon announces the changes following two deadly shootings at Walmart stores over the summer.

Walmart is the Left’s b*tch.
They are the single biggest beneficiary of the SNAP (food stamp) program. Hence they’ll do whatever their welfare state benefactors want them to do.
They’ve already cut way back. Barely half of all their stores sell ammo anymore.
Unless the perp bought his gun at Walmart and something went wrong with the transaction, this meaningless gesture.
Ignorant. Completely ignorant.
Will they stop selling 6.5 Grendel? 6.5 Creedmoor? .450 Busmaster? .300 Blackout? Many, MANY calibers can be shot in the AR-15 platform, which is primarily what these banners are targeting.
So I now have zero reason to go to Walmart.

“Its also asking shoppers to no longer openly carry firearms in stores, in states where open carry is allowed...”
I don’t normally open carry but I might make an exception in this case.
No handguns in Alaska? My local Wallyworld doesn’t sell handguns. Alaska may be the only place they do.
Your local gun and ammo stores will appreciate this move...support them.
Target stock is at a 5 year high.
Plenty of hunting rifles use .223 ammo.
Perhaps they should stop selling tires because of the terrorist attacks that used SUVs, and kitchen cutlery because of today’s cleaver attacks in the UK.
1) Shame to lose access to gun sales regardless of which store it is, Dicks, Walmart, whomever.
2) The local pawn shop has better selection of firearms than Walmart, so not a huge loss in that sense.
LOL!
Are you referring to the Target stock that has doubled in the last two years and is recently up 30%?
