Poland had a terrible time during WW2. The Germans invaded them in 1939 and they were held hostage for six years. Then the Russians came in and were worse. Their army was decimated and their priests were murdered and tens of thousands of Polish women and children were raped. They even gang raped the nuns and then murdered many of them. The goal was to destroy Poland completely. No country suffered more than Poland during WW2.
There is no Emergency Response. Dorian hasn’t hit the US and the relief efforts for the Grand Bahama Islands is UK’s job.

I just checked various definitions of the word commemorate. The primary definition refers to remembering. It’s a ‘call to remembrance’ from the Latin commemorare. Memorare means to remember but commemorare is a call to remember.
