Slavery has probably been around since man was invented!
And why aren’t they talking about the current slave trade in the US?? The Ark of Hope for Children gives the estimate of children in the sex slave trade in the US is at 300,000!
The Russians had slavery since the 10th century. They were later called Serfs which is the French Norman word for slaves. As I understand it, they were tied to the land not an owner and that land could change dramatically, by hundreds of miles. They were freed in 1861. My ancestors.

George II’s son Frederick was named Prince of Wales, but they had a very rocky relationship; George II actually banished him from the royal court at one point.
Frederick died in 1751. His son George was named Prince of Wales three weeks later. George II died in October 1760, the longest-reigning King of England until then. His grandson became George III and reigned until 1820, becoming the longest-reigning British monarch in his turn.
During the reign of George III, British power and commercial success increased markedly around the world. Their only major setback was the loss of the North American colonies in 1783.
Forum members are free to dismiss this error as a detail of minor relevance, but a great many authors and historians have attempted to analyze the split between Britain and the 13 Colonies in light of the psychology of the contentious multi-polar relationships between the kings, other family members, and the vagaries of British politics in the 18th century.
Besides, if Lyman Stone can commit an error this basic, what other mistakes has he made here, that we don’t know about?
