As patriots, we must root for anyone who is wearing the American flag on their jersey. But I’ve gotta confess – some of the women on the U.S. Soccer team have made that very hard to do.
It’s bad enough that some of them have disrespected the national anthem and others have cursed the president. It’s bad enough that many of them plan to boycott the White House visit.
But when Allie Long threw the American flag on the ground on national television — that is beyond disrespect.
“She knew exactly what she was doing, but just didn’t give a damn,” one sports fan noted on Instagram. “Damn amazing disrespect for a photo op.”
“Absolutely disgraceful,” wrote another. “Playing sports, you are taught at a young age to be respectful to the flag and our country.”
Thank goodness for the teammate who rushed over to retrieve the desecrated flag.
And perhaps the next time U.S. Soccer decides to field a team – maybe – just maybe – they could select soccer players who actually love the nation they will be representing.

No, because Ertz seems a solid all-American guy, Carson Wentz’s favorite target - I imagine were he married to an anti-American type, the marriage wouldn’t last very long - Lloyd gets a lot of press in this region, including an ad she does for a local insurance company, and I’ve never heard or seen anything about her that would suggest she’d want to burn the flag or go after the president - familiarity breeds knowledge......
I heartily agree. Those patriotic ladies of the US team will gladly accept the invitation and probably be quite gracious during the visit.
The intolerant “tolerant” Leftists and snowflakes can go suck an egg, or munch a rug, or whatever it is they do for “fun” for all I care. Interestingly enough, there was a front page article in the local newspaper (East Bay Times) regarding “Rappin’ Ho” and her hometown of Redding, CA. Redding is in the part of California (northeast) that is pretty conservative. Basically, the article said that the townspeople are proud of her accomplishments on the soccer pitch, but wish that she’d keep her messed-up opinions to herself.

Being an avid tennis follower, I have learned that for the past several years supporting American tennis is hard to do,......so I root for the players who are professional, dedicated, and exciting to watch regardless of their country. Of course it has become easy because of the top twenty ranked men’s only one is from the US. In the top twenty women’s only three are from the US.
Sorry but she is team captain don’t you think that reflects anything on the team?
